AMG Community Games: AMG Community Games Youth Club: There will be a sign up at Youth Club this Friday for all the upcoming activities. All children should attend this week to make sure they get their preference. If any child is not able to attend please contact Eamon O’Kane ASAP 085-7136690 to make sure that they are included. Table Tennis: Congratulations to the Boys U13 Table Tennis team who won 2nd place in the County Final on Sunday. Lorcan Dennigan, Kevin Lynch, Colm Hoysted, Conor Callan & Brendan Finnan bring home 5 Silver County medals. The boys had already defeated Kenagh earlier in the week in order to progress on to the Final. Well done and thanks to Barry Callan, David Hoysted & Mel Bannon for training the boys and to Barbara Gerathy, Robert Hall, Mel Bannon & Barry Callen for giving their time to be referees at the County Final held in Ardagh. Badminton: Hard luck to the U15 Boys Badminton Team 1 who were defeated by Lanesborough on Friday evening. Darren Farrell, Stephen McQuaide, Adam Callan, James Quinn & Garreth Mulleady put in a great effort on the night. Wishing best of luck to all the children on the Boys team 2 and girls team who will both be in action this week, hoping to make it to the County Badminton Final that will be held on Sunday. Janice O’Kane and Kelly Callan have been busy training all 3 teams. Launch of Healthy Events 2013: Friday evening will be the start of our brand new project- Healthy Events 2013, a competition we have entered for the National Community Games. All the children will be painting posters so we can decorate the Community Centre every week as we focus on improving positive mental health, healthy eating, physical activity, sun safety and substance misuse. We have a lot planned for the coming months! We will need extra help in preparing and presenting the information so any adults who are free are most welcome to join us. Social Dance Classes: Social dance classes every Thursday night in the Longford Arms Hotel. Beginners 8-9, Improvers 9-10 and dancing 10 -11pm. Jive, foxtrot, waltz, quickstep. 10 euro per class. All welcome, no partners needed. Contact Padraig on 087-1812248.

Irish Dancing Classes: The Maureen Farrell School of Irish Dancing will resume in Ardagh Community Centre at 4pm or 6.30pm on Tuesday 15th January and in St Dominic’s Community Centre, Kenagh, on Monday 14th January at the new time of 5.30pm. Fees for the classes are €4.50 per child per lesson with an overall family rate of €10 per family, with further reductions for those who choose to pay by the month.
