THE LATE ROSE GREGORY: Shock and much sadness greeted the news that Rose Gregory of Springtown Granard had passed to her eternal reward suddenly at her residence on Thursday January 4th last.Pre-deceased by her husband Jimmy some years ago and more recently by her sister Anna Columb of Granardkille Rose was a native of Aughakilmore and she is survived by her brother John Gaffney Ferriskil her nephews and nieces and her extended family both in Ireland and England to who we offer our sincere sympathy at this very sad time.May she rest in peace.

BALLYMORE DRAW: Ballymore Gaa club held two of their monthly draws over the Christmas season and the following were the winners.November draw,Cathal and Deirdre Monaghan Willsbrook won the first prize of one thousand euro while John Gorman Killeen, Assumpta and Peter Goulding C/o Monaghan’s and Marlyn and Paul McGivney Leitrim won one hundred euro each.Dec.draw,Mollie and Emma Boyle Killeen won one thousand euro while Vinny and Helen Walker Kilcourcey,Darragh Burke Abbylara and Donal McElvaney won one hundred each.Next draw at the end of January.

PUBLIC MEETING: Members of the public are asked to attend a meeting at Thomas Ashe Hall on Monday night next at 8pm concerning the closure of Ballinalee Garda Station. Supt Ian Lackey from Granard Garda Station will be in attendance.

THE LATE MARY JUDGE: It’s with sadness and regret that we record the death of Mary Judge which occurred in England following a short illness.Mary was the former Mary Sammon of Bunlahy and was daughter of the late George and Mary Sammon and she was pre-deceased by her sister Kate Higgins of Ballymore in 2006.Mary was also Pre-deceased by her husbands Barney Kiernan and Patrick Judge.Mary was a lovely lady who it was always a pleasure to meet and to chat to and she always kept a very keen interest in the happenings in and around her native Bunlahy and Ballymore.Mary is survived by her daughter Maureen Murtagh in Delvin,her sons Frank and Brian in England,her brothers George in Bunlahy and Jimmy in England and her sister Rose Cuggy also in England,brother in law Paddy Higgins Ballymore to who we offer our sincere sympathy at this sad time.May she rest in peace.

SYMPATHy: Deepest sympathy is extended to the Columb Family Drumderg on the death of Mary Columb and to the Mulligan family Aughagreagh on the death of Mrs.Brigid Mulligan and to Lar Lynch and family Gelsha on the death of his father Larry Lynch in Leitrim. May they rest in peace.

NEW BABIES: Congratulations to Alan Kiernan and Catherine Coolarty on the birth of their first baby-a girl born on the 12-12-12.The new arrival is to be named Holly and she is a welcome granddaughter for Breege and Vincent.Also to Sinead Corcoran and Per Jacobson Dublin on the birth of their baby boy recently.This young man is to be named Lucas and he is a welcome grandson for Pat and Mary Corcoran Ballymore.

SYMPATHY: Sincere sympathy is extended to Maureen and Fintan Flood Granardkille and to the Higgins family Colmcille on the sad death of James Higgins which occurred before Christmas.May he rest in peace.

KILLEEN DRAMATIC SOCIETY: A Mass will be offered for all the deceased members of Killeen Dramatic Society in St.Mary’s Church on Wednesday evening January 23rd next at 7-30pm and all are welcome.

NEW BABY: Congratulations to Aidrian and Vonnie Sheirdan Colmcille on the birth of their first Baby-a girl born on January 7th last.The new arrival is to be named Ella Rae and she is a welcome granddaughter for John Joe Sheirdan Aughakine and for Marie O Reilly Keenan and T P Keenan and also great granddaughter for Mary Lissie Kilbride Aughakilmore.We also extend a very warm welcome home to Ella Rae’s aunt Edel and her daughter Mia who travelled all the way from Denmark to welcome her new niece.We wish all the very best of luck.
