New Lights

Thanks to the efforts of The Autumn Club the long awaited lights are now in operation outside the Community Centre. Renewed thanks to the organisations that supported us with finance. We will no longer be trying to find our way in the dark on the winter nights.

We offer our condolences to John Joe and Barbara Higgins, Cloncoose on the death of John Joe’s sister, Mary Joe Hanley, Ballaghdereen. Her funeral took place in Ballaghdereen on Wednesday 25th. May she rest in peace.

The National School will be holding a used clothing collection in the next month or two as a fundraiser to help with the cost of transport etc. for the many extra curricular activities during the year. So if you plan on a clearout during the Easter holidays please keep your items for us. Thanks to everyone who have supported this venture over the years.

Football Fare

Leitrim finished their Division 4 league campaign on Sunday last with a good away win over Carlow. It gives them a good springboard for the forthcoming Connacht championship. Jack Heslin and Francis Flynn and the Leitrim minors had another fine win over Longford in the Connacht league on Saturday last. Jack had a very fruitful afternoon scoring an impressive 2 -5, to add to the 2 – 2 that he scored in their win against Roscommon the previous week. Well done lads and keep up the good work. The Leitrim ladies continued on their winning ways with another fine win over Wexford at the weekend.
