“A Race Night” has been organised for Saturday night 18th April in Casey’s Lounge, Newtownforbes. Cards are currently in circulation for this event and your support would be greatly appreciated. The playground is a much needed family based facility for children.
Easter Mass Times
Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord’s Supper 7pm. Good Friday celebration of the Lord’s Passion 3pm – Stations of the Cross 7pm. Holy Saturday The Easter Vigil Mass 9pm (Don’t forget to bring a candle to the Easter Vigil mass. It is lit during the singing of the Exultet). Easter Sunday Dawn Mass 6.15am and 11am (There will be no 9am mass).
There will be no Eucharistic Adoration on Wednesday. Adoration will be on Holy Thursday after mass until 10pm.
The Chrism Mass will be celebrated on Holy Thursday in St Mel’s Cathedral at 11am for the first time since 2009.
We extend our condolences to the family and friends of Jimmy Farrell, Newtownforbes who died last week. May he rest in peace.
Under Age training
Gaelic for Under 6s and Under 8s has recommenced on Monday’s at 6.30pm at the GAA Complex and new kids are always welcome. Registration forms will be available for anyone who missed the registration night.
Our deepest sympathy is extended to the Moran family, Deerpark on the death of Thomas Moran who was laid to rest during the week. May he rest in peace.

Do this in Memory Mass for First Holy Communion Class at 7pm Holy Thursday 2nd April 2015.
It’s that time of year when we start getting busy with our classes. Our craft class has started on Tuesday evening with Patricia Cox, a few empty chairs so if anyone wants to join for the last four classes please feel free to come along. Federation AGM takes place on April 22nd in The Sun Bin hosted by ourselves so a full attendance if possible. Lotto continues so stay in to win. Our next meeting takes place on Tuesday April 7th at 8.30 pm and as this is our AGM a full attendance would be appreciated. The competition is a poster for a hen party, so ladies get those ideas on paper. Olive and Mairead are on teas so feel free to come and join us, you never know where we might end up next.
Darkness into Light
On 9th May next at 4.15am our Darkness into Light walk in aid of Pieta House takes place. The official launch of Longford’s walk will take place on Easter Saturday in Tesco shopping centre from 11am to 3pm. Anyone who wishes can register with us on the day and receive their t-shirt. If you have already registered online you can pick up your t-shirt on Easter Saturday also. We will have representatives from a wide section of the community attending the launch as well as some local celebrities. Why not come along and join us and register to take part in what will be an unforgettable experience.
Well done to all of our students who have graded successfully over the last number of weeks. We have had a very busy few weeks and everyone did exceptionally well. We also have a number of new students and we would like to welcome them to our club- Tyler, Shane, Leah and Hannah. Its great to have you with us. Our next round of the leagues will take place on 19th April and further information re transport etc., will be available at club training sessions. Parent and Toddler Grant
Applications should be made by Parent & Toddler Groups that are organised by parents in the community. Grants will normally range from €100 to €1000. Existing Parent and Toddler Groups can apply for a maximum of €800. New start up groups may apply for maximum grant of up to €1000. Funding will be available for: Children’s Activities, Toys, Equipment and Books; Training for Parents, e.g. Paediatric first aid, Committee skills, Parenting courses; Limited funding for Insurance, Rent or Refurbishments, up to a maximum of 30% of the total funding secured. Clonguish GAA Club are holding a 5K Run/Walk on Easter Sunday, 5th April, 2015. Race start time is 12.00 pm with registration between 10.30 am - 11.30 am. Entry Fees are €10 per Runner, €5 per Walker and €5 per Juvenile.
