On Saturday, 4th April we will present medals to our winning Minor and Juvenile teams from 2014. The Minors won both the Minor B Championship & the Division 2 League title. The Juveniles won the A Championship Shield Competition. The medals will be presented following the Reserve League game v St Mary’s Granard at 6pm. We hope to see a large crowd out to support and congratulate these youngsters. Refreshments will be served.

Our Minor Easter Hamper raffle draw will take place the same night in Creegan’s Bunlahy with Monster draw prize winner and 2014 Senior player of the year and Club Person of the Year presentations also taking place.

Ploughing

Colmcille Ploughing and Field Day will take place on Sunday, August 30th. Anyone who feels they have a site suitable to host this years event please contact Michael on 0868188550, or Kevin, on 0876881453.

Collections

“Longford MS” will be holding their annual church gate collection throughout the county on the weekend of Saturday April 4th and Sunday April 5th.

Angling Club

North Longford Anglers pike fishing competition will be held on Sunday, 5th April on Lough Gowna, fishing 11 to 4, check in is in Dernaferst Car Park, everyone welcome

Tractor Run

Martin Cadden’s Monster Tractor Run in aid of The Kevin Bell Repatriation Fund taking place Saturday, April 18th from Mullahoran GFC grounds starting at 1pm. Refreshments served before and after the tractor run. A passenger will be aloud on a tractor if the tractor has a factory fitted seat. All tractors welcome. Sympathy

Our deepest sympathy is offered to the Gray family, Clenrath and to Michael McKeon, Smear on the death of Peter Rourke, Moyne which took place during the week. May he rest in peace.

Men’s Group

No meeting of the group on Friday next, our next meeting is on Friday 10th.

Our upholstery course commence with great enthusiasm on Friday last. Thanks to Mary Toher ETB and under the direction of Tony Lynch. Also a number of green finger enthusiast’s within the group were busy in recent weeks planting a variety of vegetables in the poly tunnel, and now awaiting for the green shoots. Our planned trip to had a slight change of direction - April 14th the group are heading for Dublin Castle and GPO Museum. Those interesting in going please give you names to any of the club members. Planning is under way for the summer trip, which is gaining a lot of momentum. Our recent social night out to Ardagh was very enjoyable, many thanks to Paschal and Anne for having us and the Jimmy’s for arranging it. Great music and song with the one and only Jimmy Lennon. Date for your Diary

The annual Dring Festival takes place this year on the 31st of May on the shores of Lough Gowna in Dring car park. Its a day not to be missed and as usual its in aid of St Christopher’s in Longford
