Scor Commiserations to our Parish Scor na nOg Ballad group, who took part in the Connacht finals recently. In spite of a flawless performance, they were pipped by an excellent Leitrim Gaels group. A big thank you and well done to the the group who represented the Barry’s club with distinction throughout the year, and to their mentors Teresa McGlynn and her assistant Abby. It was a good day for Roscommon GAA in the various categories, with wins for Kilbride in solo singing, and St. Dominic’s in Set Dancing, Recitation and the Leitrim sketch. Special congratulations to St Barry’s man, Ollie Hanley who directed the St. Dominic’s sketch. Congratulations to all.

Mass from Whitehall on RTE
We must congratulate all involved in the Mass broadcast on longwave RTE on Sunday morning last. It was truly a lovely occasion and most enjoyable to listen to on National Radio. Fr. Eamon as usual, cool and calm led the whole event with great character and reverence, to the readers, servers, choirs, folk group etc. well done. You did the Parish of Whitehall/Scramogue proud.
This present week is turning out to be rather wintry. We urge all motorists, pedestrians and others to be vigilant and most careful. We can never trust road surfaces at this time of year. Mornings and evenings are still pretty dark so care is needed by all.
