Basketball: Any child interested in playing basketball this year for community games in the following age categories: Mixed U11 over 9, Boys & Girls U13 over 10, Boys & Girls U16 over 13. Please contact a committee member. Trainers are required for the above teams also. Futsal: Any child interested in playing futsal this year for community games in the following age categories: Boys & Girls U13 over 10, Boys & Girls U15 over 13. Please contact a committee member. Trainers are also required for the above teams. If any child who does not attend Scoil Samhthann and is in the parish of Ballinalee and would like to submit an art or handwriting entry, please drop them into Carrigys shop. The following ages apply handwriting U-12 and U-10 and Art U-8 over 6, U-10 over 8, U-12 over 10, U-14 over 12 and U-16 over 14.

CE Scheme

Position available as administrative secretary on the Killoe/Newtownforbes Community Employment Scheme, which encompasses Ballinalee. This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Credited training will be provided to support your career. Duties will include financial administration, payroll, book keeping and accounts, HR and general office duties. The person should be computer literate, have a working knowledge of TAS and Thesaurus and have the ability to work both as part of a team and on their own initiative. If you are deemed eligible and suitable for this post you will be required to complete the Garda vetting process. Prayer Service

Ecumenical Service of prayer will be held in St. John’s Church, Ballinalee on Tuesday, January 27th at 8pm followed by Fellowship in Curraghacahill Hall. All welcome!

Wedding Bells

Congratulations to Paddy McDonnell, son of Pat and Mary in Aughamore who recently married Maria Masterson, daughter of Pascal and Betty from Granard. They were married in St. Mary’s Granard. The mass was celebrated by Fr. Brian Brennan. Chief bridesmaid: Elisha Masterson. Bridesmaids: Niamh Masterson, Catriona Reynolds and Anna McDonnell. Best man: Padraic Brady. Groomsmen: Padraic Reynolds, Kevin Farrell and Thomas McGovern. Flowergirls were Amy and Mia Reynolds. All the guests enjoyed a beautiful meal at the reception in Bloomfield House Hotel and danced the night away to Busy Fingers. Both have returned to Australia, however, we hope to see them back soon. In the meantime, we wish them health and happiness in their married life together.
