Killoe trio do their bit for charity

Be it a niggling injury, sore limbs or pounding headache the following morning, senior county deciders are undoubtedly unique affairs.

Different is certainly how three of Killoe’s all-conquering panel of players can probably be best described in recent weeks as they underwent a ‘shavathon’ in aid of St Christopher’s.

The occasion, which took place just hours after their victory over Longford Slashers, saw Joe McCormack and Simon Kiernan lose their hair while Paddy Hughes opted for a slightly more unforgiving chest wax.

Over €1,000 was raised in the course of two hours inside The Old Forge Pub on county final night as the trio did their bit for charity.

“I would like to thank the generosity of the local people,” said club captain Joe, sporting his new shaven head. “It was very much appreciated particularly as it was all done in the space of two hours.”
