Death of Maureen Donegan
It was with deep regret that we learnt of the death following her illness of Mrs Maureen Donegan (nee Delaney), wife of the late Thomas, Listubbit, Ballymahon on 14th January last and also just recently pre-deceased by her brother Jimmy, Drynan. She bore her illness over the last while with great dignity and her two hard-working sons Michael and Thomas looked after her at home during that time with great affection. A quiet and hardworking lady all her life, Maureen started her career many years ago as a Nurse in Mullingar General Hospital and when she got married to Tommie devoted her life to her family and to life on the farm which she loved passionately. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and looked forward each year to the lambing season, Maureen loved everything that nature provided, she was always a very caring lady. The Church of the Sacred Heart in Carrickedmond for her Funeral Mass overflowed on Friday afternoon last with family, neighbours and friends who came to say goodbye to a lovely lady, she will be sadly missed. Celebrating the Mass was Fr. Jimmy Murray, friend of the family assisted by Fr. Healy, Fr. Padraig McGowan and Fr. Paddy Conlon. We offer our sincere sympathy to Maureen’s sons Michael and Thomas, brother Michael, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and wide circle of friends. May God grant rest to her Soul.
