The re-scheduled Carrickedmond GAA AGM will take place in St Sinneach’s hall, Carrickedmond on Saturday night next the 24th January at 8pm. All players and club members are invited to attend.
Training for under-13 girls soccer will take place in Edgeworthstown Hall on this Thursday night the 22nd Jan from 6:30pm to 7:30pm in preparation for the upcoming community games soccer tournament. All eligible girls are asked to attend.
Defibrillator training will re-commence in the coming weeks. People due to do their two year re-certification will be contacted by text soon. When contacted please reply by text to confirm you will attend training. A class for new people wishing to learn the skills of CPR and how to use a defibrillator will take place during February 2015. Christmas Parish Newsletter A reminder that there are still some copies of the Carrickedmond/Abbeyshrule Christmas newsletter available and can be had by contacting Fr Charlie PP. This year’s issue is full of very interesting reading about various groups in the parish and lovely articles of times past including old photographs. This news letter would be of interest to people from the parish now living away.

Longford Sports Partnership are hosting a weekly walk/jogging group, which will commence on Saturday the 24th January at 10am for a five week period to coincide with the Operation Transformation 5k fun run in the Phoenix Dublin. This group is open to people of all ages and fitness levels. The group will meet outside the main door of the Mall sports and leisure complex. For more information contact 0433343450.

Congratulations to Mark Dooley, Doory who celebrated his 21st birthday recently at a party with family and friends in Skelly’s, Ballymahon recently. Best of luck for the future Mark.
Is extended to the Donegan family, Listubbeth on the death last week of Maureen Donegan following an illness. Maureen was a quiet and respected lady who had a friendly word and smile for everyone. She is predeceased by her husband Tom and will be sadly missed by all who knew her especially her sons, Michael and Thomas to whom we extend our sincere sympathies. Maureen’s remains were removed from the family home in Listubbeth on Friday last to Carrickedmond church for the funeral mass and her burial took place to the local cemetery. May she rest in peace.
The Carrickedmond finance group will meet in the parochial house Carrickedmond on Tuesday night the 27th January at 8pm. All committee members please attend.
We extend our deepest sympathies to Nicola Gerety on the recent death of her mother, Liane Asplin. Funeral will take place in the UK this week. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Nicky, at this sad time.
