CD launch

Launch of Rosaleen Maguire CD called Rosie’s Dream will take place in the Longford Arms Hotel, Saturday the 24th January at 8.30pm. Guests on the night are Dance on Band, Charlie McGettigan, Paul Hennessy, Celtic Chique, Bunbrosna Set Dancers, Paschal Liz, Davy and Sean, also the Ballynagargy Comhalthas. Admission on the night €10, this includes Free CD and food served. Please support Rosie’s Dream. Rosaleen will also be on Shannonside Radio at some stage, so keep tuned in. It’s great to see a local girl doing so well, having many disabilitites.


Congrats to Kathleen Maguire who has been nominated for the carers of the year award in recognition for the outstanding care provided to a loved one. We wish Kathleen the best of luck. Award well deserved.


No winner of the jackpot. Draw winners - Trevor O’Callaghan, Gregory Duffy, Frank Loyld. Sellers prize Veronica Donnelly. Jackpot next draw will be €4, 800 and will take place on the 26/01/2015 in Connaughtons Pub.

The RADS are staging their play (Pretend sick) on Febuary 6th, 7th and 8th in the Community Centre, Rathowen. Tickets are €10 each and can be got from any committee member. On Sunday the 22nd February, Run /Walk or Jog, Bunbrosna GAA Fundraiser. Registration in Bunbrosna GAA Clubhouse from 10am and Race starts at 11am from the Clubhouse. Entry fee is €12

St Mary’s NS

St. Mary’s N.S. are holding an enrolment afternoon for all incoming junior infants on Thursday, 29th January from 3-3.30pm in the school. The parents/guardians and children who are being enrolled should attend. Enrolment forms will be available and can be filled out on the day. Any questions you may have can be answered at this time. Looking forward to seeing you there.


Music lessons have started for a six week period for all classes and the children are enjoying them very much.


Following on from our cyberbullying workshop for 4th, 5th & 6th classes, a similar workshop has been organised for parents/guardians of 4th, 5th & 6th class on Wednesday, 21st January at 7.30pm in the school.
