LOTTO: The local lotto draw was held on Sunday night last. Numbers drawn were 23,12,10,5. There was no jackpot winner. 40 euro went to James Fallon. 20 euro each went to Helen Dowd, Frank Lynch, Josephine McLoughry. The next draw will be held on Sunday 9th September for a jackpot of 350 euro in the Richmond Inn Clondra. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.

21ST: Congratulations to Kealon Cox, Cloontagh who celebrated his 21st birthday on Sunday last. Many happy returns Kealon.

SCHOOLS: The local National Schools in Cloontagh and Killashee will re-open on Monday next 3rd September. Best wishes to all the students especially those who are heading off to school for the first time. Best wishes to all the secondary school students who return this week. Best of luck to all who are making the transition from primary to secondary school and those who are beginning exams years.

“DERRYADD 4”: Congratulations to the “Derryadd 4” who successfully completed their first marathon relay. The “Derryadd 4” consisting of Brendan, Helen Paula and Wesley, not alone completed the challenge but finished in second place and were presented with a trophy and their medals afterwards. The team were inspired by Paddy Cosgrove who completed the full marathon last year and again this year. Well done to all the team on their great achievement. May this weeks win be the first of many more to come.

CONGRATULATIONS: Congratulations to Aine Kiely and Orla Duffy who represented Longford in the community games national finals in Athlone. Last weekend Aine took part in the U10 100 metres while Orla did the U14 hurdles race qualifying for the semi final on Sunday.Well done Aine and Orla.

WEDDING BELLS: Congratulations to James Rogers Derryhawn and Keri Gough Barry who were married on Saturday last. James and Keri were joined by family and friends for their marriage in the Sacred Heart church Carrickedmond and reception afterwards in the Rustic Inn, Abbeyshrule where a most enjoyable time was had by all. We wish James and Keri long life and happiness together.
