Congratulations to Mark Mulligan, Aughakilmore, son of James and Mary, who celebrated his 21st birthday with a great party for families and friends in Greegan’s, Bunlahy on Saturday night last. We join with your many friends in wishing you many more great celebrations Mark.
On Saturday, October 25th last Farnaught Church Mohill was the setting for a lovely wedding when Reverend Canon Janet Catterall assisted by Fr. Seamus Mckeon PP Colmcille united Caroline Mee and Liam Reilly in holy marriage. Caroline is daughter of the late Robert and Susan Mee and Liam is son of Sean and Bridgie Reilly, Gelsha, Ballinalee. Caroline’s Bridesmaids were Margaret McManus, Sharon Gow and Fiona McVitty and the junior bridesmaids were Susan Mee and Avril McVitty and Liam’s groomsmen were Brendan Reilly, Paul Kennedy and Brian O’Neill. The flower girl was Hannah Mee and the page boy was Nathan O’Neill. The church ushers were Robert Mee and Derek Reynolds. The music was by Aisling Wrynne and the organist was Hazel Tuthill. Following the ceremony the bridal party and their families and guests travelled to the Slieve Russell Hotel where they were treated to a lovely meal and entertained by Wild Cats Band followed by a disco into the early hours of the morning. We join with the Mee and Reilly families in wishing Caroline and Liam a long and happy life together.
The John Dungan branch of CCE wish to sincerely thank all who supported their Trad for Trocaire night which was held in McElvaney’s of Coolarty on Sunday, October 26th last. Special thanks to the McElvaney family for their great hospitality and to all the musicians and to all who made donations on the night. All proceeds has been passed on to Trocaire.
Molly Gun Club Pheasant competition was held in Creegans on 2nd November, first prise in the Club competition went to Declan Vance, 2nd was Sean Columb. First prize in the Open competition was won by Jody Reilly, Mullahoran. Winners of the raffle on the night are as follows - 1st 150 euro Saoirse Reynolds, Bunlahy, 2nd 100 euro Niall Duncan, Rathbracken; 3rd Tommy O’Leary, Ballinalee. The club wish to thank all the farmers for access to their land and all those who bought raffle tickets, also thanks to Patsy Cooke & PJ Reilly for measuring the birds and Johnny & Molly Creegan for the use of their premises.

The late Fr Tom Flynn
The parish of Granard and indeed the entire Diocese was saddened on Wednesday morning last when the news became known that Fr. Tom Flynn had passed to his eternal reward following an illness in the regional Hospital in Mullingar. Fr. Tom’s funeral Mass was on Monday of this week in Granard and he was laid to rest in his native Gortletteragh afterwards. May he rest in peace. Full obituary next week.

Simon while Teresa Feery, Kevin Dooner, Boeringher Ltd, c/o Kiernan milling won one hundred euro each. The draw for October was won by Laura Tynan, Castlenugent (500 euro). The Stake House (250 euro), Syl Kiernan Jnr, Mrs Ann O’Hara, Caroline Kane all won 100 euro each. The committee wish to sincerely thank Eddie and Pat for their great help with the monster bingo.
Congratulations to Eoin Corcoran, Cahannagh who has been selected to play on the Leinster under 18 clubs squad. Eoin is a member of the Longford RFC and is son of Rose (Mallon) and the late John Corcoran, formerly of Aughagreagh. No doubt Eoin’s granny the recently deceased Nancy Mallon would be very proud of his achievements. Well done.

Congratulations to Liam and Martina Kelly, Molly on the birth of their baby boy at Mullingar Hospital recently. The new arrival is to be named Ciaran and he is a welcome brother for Maria and Michaela and grandson for Mrs Carmel Kelly and Mrs Nulty.
