Exam time: Best wishes to all students in the parish – both Leaving Certificate and Junior Certificate, who are presently in the middle of their exams.

Canal Festival 2012: Junior Fishing Competition. The third annual fishing competition was as successful as in previous years with a turnout of 23 enthusiastic junior anglers between the ages of 5 and 14 years. Results: 1st Aisling Galvin (4 fish), 2nd Alan McGuinness (3 fish), 3rd tied Peter Kirk (1 fish), Cathal Galvin (1 fish), Daniel Gallagher (1 fish), Dian Theron (1 fish) and Marne Theron (1 fish). The organisers of the event, Jeff wood and Dave McCormack, would like to thank the following for their generous help with prizes, refreshments and a helping hand on the day – Larry at ‘Go Fish’ Tarmonbarry for his help with bait and prizes, Niamh McPartland who donated a camera for the winner and kindly provided refreshments. Thanks also to Yvonne Coates and Mick Flaherty for their assistance in the smooth running of the competition and The Richmond Inn for hosting the prize-giving.
