In last week’s notes a death notice read “Sympathy to Mary McGuinn” should have read Mary McGuigan. Apologies for this mistake from the writer.

Last Monday night bingo was most enjoyable as well-known television production team, Coco T.V. were present to film for a programme called, “Don’t tell the Bride” which many will have seen in the past. The bride in this programme is Danielle Reilly from Finea. In this programme the groom may not appear until the wedding which must take place within three weeks following the filming and the groom to be has to organise the complete wedding including organising the hotel, purchasing the dress etc. etc. Coco T.V. will phone the writer in advance notice of the wedding, so watch this space next week. We wish the brave couple many years ahead.

Boherquill Ramblers

The Ramblers met outside the Friary in Multyfarnham on Sunday, November 2nd for a walk to Donore Wood beside Lough Derravaragh. They reached the Lough at Derravaragh Caravan and Camping Park and found a narrow path which followed the lakeshore through part of the Wood, with views out across the reed beds and the water dotted with swans. The path ended at a fence so the group turned back to the Caravan Park and then returned to Multyfarnham along a loop of quiet lanes through Ballynakill. On Sunday, November 16th the Ramblers will visit Mullingar for a walk beginning with a walk beside the feeder canal linking the Royal Canal and Lough Owel. Cars will leave Boherquill at 1.30pm and meet at Dunnes Stores overflow car park in Harbour Street, Mullingar at 2pm.

All three teams were in action last week. Streete B had a great win over Ballymore A at the Streete Complex. Streete A travelled to Tyrrellspass and came up short against the home team with both teams winning two games and Tyrrellspass winning out on the bonus point. Streete C travelled to Ardagh and had a comprehensive win. This win leaves them leaders in division 2. This week both A and C teams have away games against Tyrrellspass and Castlepollard whilst the B team are at home to Ballymore B at the Streete Complex. These are the last games in the league before Christmas. The club wish to extend sincere condolences to Mick Murray on the death of his nephew. May he rest in peace. The club would like to welcome back Angela Whelan and Mary McLoughlin after their recent illness. It is great to see them out and about again. New members are welcome at the Streete club.
