COMMUNITY GAMES: The Community Games U10 Handwriting Competition took place recently in St. Teresa’s N.S. The results are as follows:- Girls – 1st. Laoise-Mei Landers; Joint 2nd. Rachel Eivers & Niamh Craig; 3rd. Sarah Tully. Boys – 1st. Niall Sheridan; 2nd. Darren Moffett; 3rd. Divine Akude. Well done to all the boys and girls who participated in this Competition and congratulations to the medal winners. Many thanks to Mrs. Dalton and Mrs. Mahon from St. Teresa’s N.S. who coordinated this competition on our behalf. Many thanks also to Edward Forster who judged the Handwriting Competition for us. Niall and Laoise-Mei went forward to the County Final with Laoise-Mei taking 3rd. place. Congratulations to Niall and Laoise-Mei on representing Killoe at County level and well done. Hard luck to the Boys U16 and Girls U16 Basketball teams who were beaten in their games. Well done to everyone who took part and many thanks to Jamie King and Ciara Keogh respectively for the time and commitment they gave to training these two teams. Fine Gael: A special meeting of the Killoe branch, Will be held in the old Forge on Thursday Night 5/April at 9.00Pm sharp all members please attend.

CONDOLENCE: Sincere sympathy is extended to Sally Dooner and families Shepherds Bush London UK,Lilly Dooner and families Ennybegs Killoe ,Bridie Budz (nee Dooner) and families New Jersey, Dooner families USA on the recent sad bereavement of Sally’s husband Kevin (late of Ennybegs Killoe Co Longford). To his wife Sally sons Kevin Martin, daughters Mary,sister Bridie extend families , friends the parish express their condolence. Burial was held in London UK. May he rest in peace.

CYCLING: Any persons who are interested in going cycling you can meet at Ennybegs Killoe Community Centre on Sundays at 8.45am.Everyone is welcome.

ENGAGEMENT: Congratulations to Christopher Kelly son of Christy and Cathy Kilnacarrow Killoe who has affirmed his binding vows to Denise McCloughry daughter of Alec and Josie Ballydrum Killashee Co Longford by celebrating their recent engagement. ICA:The Ennybegs branch of ICA are holding their AGM on Tuesday 10 April 2012 at 8.30pm in Ennybegs Community Centre Killoe. All members are requested to please attend this meeting and new members are very welcome.

DOCTOR EMILY: Congratulations to Emily Hughes daughter of Frank and Margaret Farragh Killoe who was this year chosen to represent Longford for the 2012 Rose of Tralee. The parish extend you every good wishes in the regional finals to be held in June 2012 in Co Laois and sure these judges might need medical assistance if they don’t choose to send our lovely Emily to Tralee. We also congratulate all the girls who participated in the Longford selection and wish Doctor Emily good luck!

Defibrillator fundraiser: A fundraiser for a defibrillator for the parish of Killoe will take place in Begleys Bar on Sunday April 15 next. Music on the night will be provided by Connie Reilly and admission is optional. Your support would be appreciated for this worthwhile cause. Refresher course on Mon 16th April at 7,8 and 9pm.
