Living Links Cavan is holding an Ecumenical Service of Remembrance for family and friends bereaved by suicide on Sunday, 29 June 2014, at 3pm in St. Brigid’s Church, Killeshandra. Death by suicide is a tragedy for everyone concerned. The grief and sense of loss experienced can be overwhelming.

Pitch and Putt
Competitions continue on Wednesday evenings for all members at Granard Pitch & Putt – adults and juveniles and new beginners at 7pm. Those competitions will continue for the rest of the Summer months weather permitting. Anybody who is not a member must pay green fees €5 per day for adults and €2 for Juveniles. Streete Parish Park annual Vintage Day will take place on Saturday and Sunday, 12 and 13 July. The Philip Moran Memorial Tractor Run will be held on Saturday, 12 July at 4.00pm and the Vintage Show is on Sunday, 13 July at Kilmore Streete, Rathowen, Co. Westmeath, just 4 miles off the N4 at Rathowen Church. There will be Vintage Cars, Tractors, Motorcycles, Stationery Engines, Horse Drawn Equipment and much more. There will be a special prize for the oldest car and tractor with tax book. There will be a state of the art venue with full catering facilities in our onsite Sports Complex and Community Centre, annual dog show, outdoor bandstand with all day entertainment, many exhibitions and demonstrations throughout the day and also entertainment for children. There will be a raffle for cash prizes on the day and there is no charge for vintage exhibitors and a free meal. All donations will go directly to the Irish Heart Foundation. A special thanks to all the boys and girls from St. Bernard’s National School, who joined the Tidy Towns members with some of their teachers, on a litter pick up on all roads around Abbeylara. There were twelve bags of rubbish collected. All of these cans, bottles, papers etc. were dumped since our last pick up a couple of weeks back. With judging on at the moment we need to be on our guard and report any wrong doing to members of Tidy Towns.
Family day out
Lus na Greine low cost annual family day out will take place on 5 August to Bundoran. This is open to families and bookings are now being accepted. For further information please contact the centre.
