Cemetery Sunday

Sunday, 29th June is Cemetery Sunday. Mass will be celebrated in the cemetery at 12 noon. (There will be no 11am mass on Sunday).

Family day

The Minor Club annual family day will take place on Sunday, 29th June at 2pm on the Clubs Junior Pitch.  This is a great day out for the family with lots of activities including U6 and U8 football matches, various races, (new races this year, also to include the wheelbarrow race, three legged race, sack race), Krypton style obstacle course, talent show, bouncy castles, activity courses, pony riding, face painting, penalty taking, tug o war, BBQ and lots more.  Please come along for a fun day out and to support the Minor Club.

Karate Club

Well done to Oisin and Senan who graded successfully last week. We have one more grading to take place, so keep up the practice. Our new licence books have arrived and will be issued to students shortly. Students are asked to make sure and keep their insurance details with their licence books. 5km Run/Walk

A 5k Run/Walk will take place in Roosky Village on Wednesday, 2nd July at 8pm.  Registration of €10 per person or €20 for family. Proceeds in aid of Roosky Church Restoration Fund


An Irish Language Summer Course (SIAMSA!) will take place from Monday, 7th July to Friday, 11th July in Gaelscoil Longfoirt.  The course will take place from 9.30am to 3pm each day and will cater for students from Second Class to First Year.  Further information and applications forms available from Yvonne Ní Mhurchú 087-2642665

Tax Relief Scheme

During the week, certificates for the Tax Relief Scheme went out to all those in the parish who have contributed €250 or more to the parish collections in 2013. From this year onwards everyone (including the self employed) is eligible to assist the parish in its claim from revenue so please return your certificates.

Baby congrats

Congratulations to Cathy and Michael Murphy on the birth of their baby girl, Rebecca. Davina and Ryan are delighted with their new sister.

Longford Tennis Club

Junior Summer Camp 7th – 11th July from 10am to 1pm, (all ages, under 6s should be supervised). €45 per child with discounts available for families. Bring a snack and drink. Computer 4 Kids

Summer Camp Week 1: 14th July – 18th July or Week 2: 21st July – 25th July 2014. 9.30am to 1pm daily. €65 per child per week. Primary School Children aged 8 years and up. Make your own invitations, cards and posters. Learn how to use word, powerpoint, publisher and email. Touch typing and safe web browsing. Plus fun time and lots more! GAA Cul Camp

Kellogg’s GAA Cul Camps are a great way for boys and girls aged 6 – 13 to play the games and learn GAA skills in a fun child-friendly environment – and maybe even help make them a GAA star of the future!
