Choir: Abbeylarra Parish are hosting the Virginia Gospel Choir on Saturday April 14 in St. Bernard’s Church at 8.30pm. All proceeds to the parish centre. Tickets €10 inc refreshments. Raffle on the night.

Holy Week: Many thanks to all parishioners who helped out in different ways with the various ceremonies during Holy Week.
Parish Dance: A thank you to all who attended and contributed towards this year’s parish dance held on Sunday night last. Funds from the night go towards Scoil Samhthann and the community’s group playground development project. A special thanks to the members of the parish council who sold tickets, stand on the door, sold raffle tickets and gave the proceeds to the community group. There will be further fund-raisers as we have not reached our target and we would hope that those who didn’t support the dance would support these events.
Longford Federation ICA: have invited Laura Shaw from Longford Garden Centre to the 98 Hall, Ballinamuck, on Thursday April 26 at 7.30pm. Laura will show us how to fill hanging baskets, window boxes and containers for the summer season. If you need help with your hanging basket you can bring it along on the night. She will also talk to us about maintaining our vegetable garden and answer any questions we have have on gardening. Anyone with an interest in gardening is welcome to come along on the night. Raffle will be held. Admission €5.
Tommy Fleming: Well known singer Tommy Fleming and his band will play in Holy Trinity Church on Friday May 4 at 8pm in aid of the Maguire Park Development. Tickets cost €30 and are available in the local post office.
Recycling: Old clothes collection on Friday April 27 at 10am at the Thomas Ashe Hall. Bed linen, curtains, belts, handbags, paired shoes, men’s, women’s and children’s clean clothing. Also old mobile phones. Drop into myself at the Post Office.
AGM: The local branch of the Fine Gael are holding their AGM on Monday night at 9.30pm in Farrell’s Lounge. All members are asked to attend. New members welcome. James Bannon TD will attend.
