Step by step

Mary Corr’s Creche and Montessori School, Bundoon, Killoe are holding their open evening on Friday, 27 June from 6.30pm – 8pm to include a viewing of the outdoor classroom, sensory garden etc. All children that are enrolled for E.C.C.E. places this September 2014 are expected to attend. Ruby anniversary

Well a wee Cork lass met a very charismatic Longford man, thought he was a real corker, fell in love, married and Ruby years later still hold a glint in the eye for each other. Extended good wishes to Jimmy and Mary Mollighan, Clontumpher, Killoe, with congratulations on your 40th wedding anniversary and hope you enjoy many, many more anniversary celebrations.

Old graveyard

Booklets titled Resting in Peace in Old Killoe are now available to include a map showing location of headstones/ tombstones plus listed names of those resting in peace. Cost 5 euro can be obtained at Hughes shop, Ennybegs or Tel 087 9268585/ 043 3323191 or any committee member.

Get well

Good wishes to all parishioners in hospital or unwell at home. We hope everyone will have a speedy recovery to good health.


Sincere sympathy is extended to the Quinn families, UK on the sad bereavement of their mother, Monica, (nee McAlindon and predeceased by her husband Michael, late of Kellether, Killoe, brother Chief Inspector Martin McAlindon) who was laid to rest last week. The parish express condolence to her son, Michael, daughters Eileen, Margaret, sister, Sr Louis Marie, brother Brien, sons/daughters in law, grand/great grandchildren, Quinn families, Cullyfad, Killoe, extended families, friends. Burial was held in Carisle, Wales, UK. May she rest in peace.

Church news

St Mary’s, Ennybegs, Masses Wednesday/ Thursday at 10am, Friday 8pm. Exposition blessed sacrament both Churches Wednesday 6 – 9pm. St Theresa’s NS, Clontupmher, end of year 6th class pupils and families mass Wednesday in school at 8pm. Longford county council granted permission to eradicate some of laurel hedge at St Mary’s Church for better sighting from Crann Lur junction and hopefully, will assist towards planning for proposed car park behind the church. Final “Do this in memory of Me” First Holy Communion recipients mass in St Mary’s, Ennybegs on Sunday, 29th June at 11am for all boys/girls and families.

Down Syndrome

Arthur and Loretta Steward wish to thank everyone for their support at the “Ice Cream Fun Day” raising 1,000 euro in aid of Down Syndrome Ireland. In appreciation.
