Two Longford women die in
road accidents

There was a deep sense of sadness in the Edgeworthstown and Moyne areas of Co Longford last week when it emerged that two women with local connections died following separate road traffic collisions in counties Cork and Cavan.

There was a deep sense of sadness in the Edgeworthstown and Moyne areas of Co Longford last week when it emerged that two women with local connections died following separate road traffic collisions in counties Cork and Cavan.

Anna McCabe (63) a native of Moatefarrell, Edgeworthstown and resident of Drumhaldry, Moyne for the last 40 years, died following injuries that she sustained after she was hit by a car while crossing the road at Coronea, Arva at 7:50pm last Wednesday night.

On the previous Monday, thirty seven year old Regina Kennedy, a native of Edgeworthstown also lost her life after she was hit by a car in Douglas, Co Cork during the early hours of November 14 last. Ms Kennedy had been residing in Cork city for the best part of 10 years.
