The late Felix Halton, Drumgore, Loughduff was well known locally for his appreciation of nature and the everyday life of rural Ireland and was highly regarded as a gifted poet and storyteller. In fact he would have had much in common with Patrick Kavanagh he was so aware of the world around him. His family are organizing a publication of a collection of his poems but unfortunately many of his compositions were never put to paper. It is hoped that anyone who may have any of his works or remember verses might get in touch so that these can be included in the collection.
To all our readers and contributors of this column and to all visitors to the area, we wish a very happy Easter and may you all enjoy the blessings of the season.
