Two year re-certification class are now complete. The CADG would like to thank all from the area who returned for their two year re-certification. Please remember to make yourself familiar with the public access defibrillator locations. If in the case of a cardiac arrest please first dial 999 or 112 for the emergency ambulance and then get the nearest public access defibrillator to the emergency. If there are new people interested in doing a CPR/AED course please contact Seamus McGuire at 086-8286748 or Anthony Greene at 086-3993933 as it is intended to run a course for new people at the end of April.

Factory Re-Union Plans are well underway for a re-union for the people who worked in Ballymahon clothing factory, Chaffey’s, Dubtex, Balman, Manford and Manford Direct. All past employees of these factories together with their partners, families and friends are invited and all others who would like to attend on the night are also welcome. The venue is the “The Rustic Inn” Abbeyshrule on Friday night the 25th April commencing at 9pm sharp. Music will be provided by various artists followed by a disco with DJ Michael Rooney. This promises to be a great night to renew old acquaintances. There will be a raffle and spot prizes and donations buckets will be at the door with all proceeds on the night going to local charities.
Club activities have restarted after the winter break with the resumption of the popular weekly paddle sessions. The weekly paddle sessions are at 5pm every Saturday evening in Abbeyshrule Harbour. Membership is now due for renewal for all members. New members are always welcome and should contact one of the committee or come to the weekly paddle for more details. The monthly trips kick off on the 27th April with a leisurely trip from Churchtown, Empor back to Abbeyshrule. Everyone going should meet in Abbeyshrule at 1pm to arrange transport to Churchtown. Details on other trips will be published in coming weeks. Church of Ireland The following are the Holy Week Services for the Ardagh Group of Parishes to which all are welcome to attend. Good Friday, 18th April: Special service in Kenagh church at 11:30am. Easter Saturday, 19th April: Holy Communion in Ballymahon church at 7pm and in Kenagh church at 9pm. Easter Sunday 20th April: Holy Communion in Ardagh church at 10am and in Tashinney church at 11:30am. Please note that Easter Holy Communion will be administered to all housebound in the Ardagh Group of Parishes during Holy Week.
Local notes error
Due to e-mailing problems last weekend the Carrickedmond Local notes did not appear in the Longford Leader. However there did appear notes from the parish concerning the local GAA club and the local community games group which were old notes published previously. Apologies to all contributors and readers of the Carrickedmond local notes for any inconvenience caused by these errors.

Continues in the hall on usual nights for adults and children. Hard luck to the club’s men’s division six team who were narrowly defeated by Moyvore in the league final last week. A club social night will take place in the Rustic-Inn on Saturday night next the 19th April with music by the very popular country star Ciaran Rosney. Dancing from 10pm - 1am.
