Parish Clean up
Thanks to all the volunteers who came along on Saturday last to pick up the litter on the roadsides of the parish. A special word of thanks to chief organizer, Noel McCluskey and to those who provided transport to bring the rubbish to the designated disposal area. There were hundreds of bags containing everything from milk cartons to old clothes, wheels, satellite dishes, mattresses and the list goes on and on. So thanks again one and all its not a nice thing to have to go out and clean op someone else’s filth.
3 weeks and counting. The line-up for the day so far will include: 5km Fun Run, Farmyard in the Schoolyard, Kids Tractor Rally, Puppet and Magic Show, Dromod’s Cube, along with the old familiars: Super Slide, Bouncy Castle, Bungee Run, Rodeo Bull, Face painting, Irish Dancing, Schools Art Competition, Cake Sale and Refreshments.
Previous cake sales have been brilliantly supported both by bakers and hungry tummies alike and we are again inviting all residents to bake some cakes and buns to sell on the day. The Festival Committee would again greatly appreciate the help of volunteers on the day. This will involve helping to supervise the different field activities, setting up tables, chairs and artwork in the marquee and also marshalling the fun run. We’re still very interested to hear from any individuals, groups or organisations who could further add to the success of the day. Please contact us on 08799 72439. Fundraising is now in progress and we hope to get the same generosity and support as in previous years. We look forward to your support and will keep you updated.
