Killoe Community Games Annual Sports Day will take place on Saturday the 7th of May in Clonee. We will have Track and Field events for ages groups U4 to U16,

In addition, we will also have Novelty races for all age groups - sack races, spud-and-spoon and target ball, as well as mothers’ and fathers’ races. All events are free of charge. Those who qualify (from U8 category upwards) will go forward to represent Killoe in the County Finals in June. In Basketball, our U11 Mixed team took silver medals when they played in the County Final against Longford South in The Mall Complex on Friday last, the 15th of April. This was a great achievement for this young team and well done to you all. Many thanks to Rita Moran and Catherine Bracken for their great commitment in training and managing our U11s.

The County swimming competitions will take place in May in Longford. Age categories are from U8 to U16. If your child wishes to participate, please contact Mary on 086 1219281 to register. The deadline for registration is Tuesday the 26th of April.

WEDDING BELLS

Congratulations to Thomas Brady son of Tommy and Nora, Bawn, Killoe who exchange nuptial vows with Lorraine McCloughrey, daughter of Alex and Josephine, Killashee Co. Longford. Joined by families and friends in St. Patrick’s Church Killashee last week. With radiant rays, everyone travelled to the Landmark Hotel, Carrick on Shannon to enjoy a sumptious reception of fine food plus craic agus ceol. we extend good wishes to the happy couple and their families for a future filled with great health and happiness.

CHARITY CYCLE

The parish extend good luck to the sixty five cyclists, including many from the parish, and their teams who venture on the Dublin to Leitrim Charity Marathon in aid of suicide awareness on Saturday April 30 next. We trust everyone will have a safe and pleasant journey with not too many sore bums. Well done for total committment by everyone to help the ‘Stop’ charity continue thier good work towards suicide awareness.

MEET AND GREET

Ennybegs Baby and Toddler Group meet every Friday morning in Ennybegs Community Centre, Killoe from 9.30am to 11.30am. Everyone welcome to come along.

Bootcamp style circuit training fitness routine now being held in Ennybegs Community Centre every Wednesday from 7pm to 8.15pm. Charge €7 per session. Please bring a bottle of water and towel. CARNIVAL 2011

Great ready, get set. Yes a fun packed weekend of events not awaits everyone at the All Star Ballinalee Co. Longford Carnival from Friday April 29 to Sunday May 1 2011. A host of a great music entertainers with Robert Mizzell, Big Generator, Mike McDonald, Patrick Feeney and many family oriented events including a full weekend funfair.
