Badminton continues every Wednesday night starting at 9pm for adults. Great to see so many adults playing badminton and welcome to all the new members. Children’s badminton continues on Friday nights from 7pm. All kids interested are welcome to attend. League matches are ongoing, best of luck to all representing the club in the various men’s and ladies teams. Committee meeting will take place on Wednesday night 12th February at 8pm to discuss up and coming fundraising event and a kids tournament. All members please attend.

Folk Group

Rehearsals continue in Carrickedmond church on Wednesday nights from 8pm to 9pm. New members always welcome.

Defibrillator Group

Two year recertification classes are ongoing at present. All due for recertification will be contacted by text. Please reply when contacted to confirm you will attend. A class for new people wishing to learn the skills of CPR and how to use a defibrillator will take place in Carrickedmond hall on Thursday night the 27th February. If you are interested please contact Seamus Mc Guire at 086-8286748 or Anthony Greene at 086-3993933 to book a place. All in the parish are again reminded to make themselves familiar with the location of the defibrillators in the parish. In case of any emergency please always get help by dialling 999 or 112.

St Bridget’s Day

Well done to the pupils from St Sinneach’s national school, Colehill who last week made St Bridget’s crosses for handing out to households in the parish. If you did not get a cross at mass last weekend and would like one, please contact the school or Fr Tiernan who will gladly give you one.

Get well wishes

Are extended to Edward Keenan, Ratharney, who is recovering from surgery at present. We all hope to see Edward out and about soon.

Enrolment To St. Sinneach’s N.S. Colehill will take place in the school each day between 1pm and 3pm each day during week commencing the 24th to the 28th February inclusive.

First Friday

This Friday, 7th February is the first Friday of the month with the usual calls by Fr Tiernan to the housebound taking place. Mass will be in Abbeyshrule at 5pm and in Carrickedmond at 7pm.


There will be a meeting for parents of children who serve mass in the parish in the hall Carrickedmond on Wednesday night the 12th February at 8pm and will end at 9pm. All parents concerned please attend.

Irish Blood Transfusion

If you give blood please note that the blood unit will be in attendance at the Longford arms hotel on this Wednesday and Thursday 5th and 6th Feb from 4:30pm to 8pm.
