First Friday

First Friday

As this is the First Friday of the Month Mass as usual in Boherquill at 8p.m. and all sick and housebound will be visited by Mgr. Earley on Thursday at the usual times.

We extend our sympathy to the Butler family on the death of Mrs. Ruth Anderson, Coole, formerly Ruth Butler, Streete whose funeral took place following Service in Castlepollard Church of Ireland last week. May she rest in peace.

We send heartiest congratulations to Miss Mahon, Principal Cnoc Mhuire, the teachers, staff, particularly the students and parents and all concerned with last Sunday’s Mass on R.T.E. 1 celebrated by Fr. Simon Cadam P.P., Granard. It was certainly a wonderful occasion and something the School, Town and County can be very proud of. This Mass was to mark the ending of the Catholic Schools week across the nation and was celebrated with mass from the R.T.E Studio in Dublin with Cnoc Mhuire being the selected School. Well done to all concerned.

As mentioned last week, Roy Jones Barradrum, Streete issues on open invitation this Thursday and next to attend at his home at 7pm to discover some readings from the Bible which positively declare its relevance to our daily life. This is a non-denominational gathering and all are welcome. The readings will end at about 8p.m. with a cup of tea and a social chat. For any further details please call Roy 043 6676023 or 087 1258722.

Streete Parish Park committee would greatly appreciate offers of help selling envelopes for our fortnightly draw. Even if you only sell some in your own area it will help. The weather is so wicked our heat and light bills are bigger than ever. Last week we got an electric bill for just over €1,200 for a two month period. If we are to keep our standards up we must get help. If you are prepared to help or if you wish to purchase an annual envelope for €50 please contact Brian 086 2596656 or Alice 086 8130780. We dislike asking for help but the Complex is of great benefit to all who wish to use it as well as the walkway.
