Friday Night Fever
The Bornacoola GAA disco night in Lough Rynn two days to go. All is in place for what promises to be a great night. Please note the bus will now pick up passengers at the Community Centre in Bornacoola at around 9.45 and the clubhouse at 10pm. Further bus runs will be available from the clubhouse if demand requires. Tickets available from Copper Still, Committee members or on the door on the night. If you have your costume ready...fantastic. If not don’t worries just come along and enjoy great music and dancing.

There will be a meeting of the Cloonturk School reunion on Monday next in The Copper Still at 9pm, and again we would urge all you past pupils living in the area to come along and bring any photos you might have and also to spread the word about the reunion which will take place on Saturday December 8th starting with Mass in Cloonturk Church at 1pm followed by a visit to Cloonturk School and afterwards a social gathering in the Copper still.

We would like to send our condolences to the family and friends of the late Cissie Nolan, nee McGuinness, Curryline, Newtownforbes who passed away on Sunday last at the Laurel Lodge Nursing home Longford. Cissie will be laid to rest today Wednesday in Newtownforbes cemetery following 11 am mass in St. Mary’s Church. May she Rest in Peace.
GAA club draw
The November draw in Bornacoola gaa club draw took place in The Copper Still on Saturday night last with music on the night by the ever popular Feargal McGill. Thanks to all who supported winners were €100 Ailbhe McGill, €20 each - Declan Shanley, Annaduff, John McGushin, Patrick Duffy, Robert and John O’Beirne, Patricia Hackett and a bottle of wine sponsored by the Copper till was won by Declan Bohan.

Annaduff ICA are holding a monster cake sale and Christmas fare in Annaduff Community centre on Sunday December 15th after 11am Mass. All proceeds are going to the Annaduff and Drumsna Churches renovation fund. They are also selling 2014 calendars with local scenes. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
A note to hand from Tish Dunleavy and it reads as follows - Gentle Reminder….Come along and hear some of the old favourite Gospel & Country songs performed by members of the Sweet Spirit Gospel Choir on Sunday 8th December 2013 in St. Georges Church & Heritage Centre, Carrick On Shannon at 8pm. Sean Mahon (Rodeo Man) who has recently joined the choir will perform some well-known songs like ‘Will the Circle be unbroken’ and ‘I’ll fly away’. The great classic ‘Jerusalem’ will be performed by beautiful soprano Pearl Kielty. Pearl along with the Choir will also perform Tish Dunleavy’s new Christmas song . MaryAnn McBrien will be joined by her ‘sisters’ for the great song from Sister Act ‘ I will follow him’! That’s just a little taste of what to expect on the night in St. Georges. All proceeds from door receipts will go to the Alzheimers Unit, St. Patricks Hospital Carrick and Leitrim/Sligo Special Olympics Fund. Billy’s World Charity
The launch of Billy’s World charity is on Fri night 29th November in the Landmark Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon, commencing at 7.30pm. The charity is being set up by Tony Byrne, Carrick-on-Shannon, whose five year old son passed away earlier this year. The charity hopes to raise enough money in the future to open a holiday centre in Carrick-on-Shannon for special needs children and their families, the first of its kind in Ireland. This would be a huge economic boost for the local area and an amazing experience for disabledthese children and their families. A wonderful night on the 29th is guaranteed, with champagne reception, wonderful prizes and music by “Oddity”. Your support would be hugely appreciated.
