The Annual General meeting of Legan Sarsfield GAA Club takes place this Friday night November 29th in the Clubhouse at 8pm. All players’ officials and members it is very important to attend. Non members are also welcome as the development of sport in our area is of the utmost importance.

Community Games

The association’s AGM is scheduled for Tuesday December 3 at 8pm in the GAA clubhouse. All parents are asked to attend.

Flower Arranging Demonstration

The Annual ICA fundraising Christmas Flower Arranging demonstration will take place on Wednesday 11th December in the GAA Clubhouse at 8pm. Florist Ann Murphy will present the demonstration and all arrangements will be raffled afterwards. A sale of homemade Christmas Cakes, Puddings and baking will take place first. A beautiful Festive supper will be served. The cost is €7 and all money raised will be divided among three local Charities.

Inny Anglers

Results of last week’s Inny Anglers Lotto draw for a jackpot of €3,600. Numbers drawn were 2, 17, 23 and 24. There was no jackpot winner. Special draw winners of €40 each were Gerry Gunshinan and Marcella Donnelly. This week’s draw takes place in Slowey’s on Friday night.


Results of GAA Lotto draw held on Monday 18th November for a jackpot of €8,100. Numbers drawn were 21, 22, 26 and 27. There was no jackpot winner. March three winners of €50 each were J Coyle and K Nulty. This week’s draw took place in Slowey’s on Monday night and results will be published next week.

Christmas Craft Fair

Longford ICA will hold a Christmas Fair in the Temperance Hall, Longford on Saturday 7th December from 10am to 4pm. Many Crafters will attendance giving you an opportunity to get unique Christmas presents. There will also be Demonstrations e.g. Christmas Cake Icing, Flower Arranging and Christmas Decorations. There will be Carol Singing, Café and Santa’s Grotto. There is something for all the family.

Scór na nÓg

Well done to our local junior representatives in Scór na Nóg competition held in Ardagh on Friday last. Jack Nulty, Darragh Gunshinnan and Paddy Farrell performed very well in the story telling competition.
