Christ The King

Sunday last was the last Sunday of the present Liturgical year which was marked by the feast of Christ The King. Next Sunday is the first Sunday of Advent and it is traditional to have an Advent Wreath in each Church to mark the Sundays in preparation for the busy Christmas season.

Presentation of Medals

After a great season’s performance by our juveniles all are invited to a Medals Presentation to the Victorious Boys U 12, U 14 and U16 Teams on Friday evening next 29th November at 7 p.m. in Parochial hall. Special Guest will be Conor McManus – Monaghan’s Ulster winning Player and 2013 All Star winner. Please come and show your support to the lads on their great achievements. Refreshments served.

GFC Lotto

St. Joseph’s Hurling Club

The 3rd Annual Lucas O’Reilly Hurling tournament final was played in Our Lady of Lourdes park on Sunday afternoon last between Lisnaskea and Mullahoran. This was a keenly contested game with some excellent bouts of play with some fine scores by both sides. However the locals were 4 pts down with 5 mins to go but rallied well following an opportunistic goal from sub. Andrew Donohoe and 3 well taken points to ensure victory on a score of 2-11 to 1-12. Sean Farrell presented the Man of the Match award to Barry McArdle and Luke O’Reilly presented the cup to captain Hugh Briody and medals to the winning team. He also thanked the Club for arranging the tournament and Lisnaskea for taking part.

Recital

The Mulligan Sisters will perform Operatic and Sacred Arias, Classical Songs and Musical Theatre favourites in concert at the Church of St Camillus, Killucan, Co Westmeath on Sat November 30th at 8.00p.m. sharp. Tickets 10 euro available at the door.

Drama

The Acorn Players present the hilarious comedy “ The two loves of Gabriel Foley “ in Drumavaddy Community Centre on Saturday November 30th at 8.30 pm. Adm: € 10.

 

Presentation

The Croagh Patrick to Ballinagh Climb & Cycle Challenge 2013  will hold their presentation of monies in Cronins Bar, Ballinagh on Sat Nov 30th at 10pm. Music by Guichie Dunne.

Apostolic Society

The members of the Society held their post-Sale of Work meeting in the Parochial hall last week. Once again the annual fundraiser in aid of the foreign missions event was a great success and the members wish to extend their sincere thanks to all who supported it and also acknowledge the generous contribution from the recent Rita Nannery Memorial Walk.

Cnoc Mhuire

School Musical

The Cnoc Mhuire Transition Year class are currently putting the finishing touches to “Honk”, a musical comedy that is based on the storey of the Ugly Duckling. It is a heart-warming tale that will be enjoyed by both young and old. It will be performed on the 17th, 18th and 19th December at 7.30 pm nightly. Arts & Crafts

Would you like something to pass the long winter nights? The Apostolic Society are holding a Demonstration Night on Thursday 5th Dec. in the Parochial hall at 8pm. Crafts include; knitting, crochet, patchwork, pouffe seat making and of course baking. All are invited – you may discover a hidden talent.

Pastoral Council

Nomination Forms have been distributed for new members for next 3 year term and should be completed and returned next weekend. All are asked to please give this matter some consideration.
