The death of Bridie O’Hara Ballinacross Granard and formerly of Aughamore occurred following a tragic accident on Sunday night at Lisnagrish on the Edgeworthstown / Mullingar road shortly before 8pm. Predeceased by her husband Stephen sympathy is extended to her family relatives and friends. May she rest in peace. Bridie was a keen gardener and was chairperson of Granard Garden Club but due to her tragic death the meeting on Monday 25 November was cancelled as a mark of respect.

The annual Senior Citizen’s party for the Granard /Abbeylara and Mullinalaghta areas will be held in Lus Na Greine on Sunday 1st December at 1.00 pm and all our senior citizens are invited to attend. This promises to be a great party with plenty of music song and dance and a beautiful Christmas dinner for all. At our last meeting on Thursday 14 November we had our annual Mass for deceased members thank you to Fr. Simon Cadam, Sr. Maeve and members of the Granard Choir for their support on this very important and special time for all of us. Our next date is our Christmas outing on Thursday 28 November, travelling for dinner to the Black Olive Restaurant in Longford followed by a trip to the Backstage Theatre.
