The Mulligan Sisters
The Mulligan Sisters will perform Operatic and Sacred Arias, Classical Songs and Musical Theatre favourites in concert at the Church of St Camillus, Killucan, Co Westmeath on Sat November 30th at 8p.m. Tickets 10 euro available at the door.
A “Train The Trainers” workshop for Leaders of Community Groups in preparation for the 2014 Local Government and EU Elections. It will take place in the EDI Centre on Thursday 5th (full day) and Friday 6th (half day) of December starting at 09:30. The Active Citizenship Programme is a workshop process of 3-4 sessions and is led by trained facilitators and is non-party political. At our meeting last week a minutes silence was held for the late John McGlynn, a valued member of our club. John took ill and sadly passed away on a recent vintage trip to the Cooley Peninsula with fellow club members and vintage enthusiasts . We extend our deepest sympathy to his partner Jenny and the McGlynn family. The presentation of €12,000 which was raised on our Vintage Tractor & Charity Truck Run will take place in The Mostrim Arms on Sat. night next Nov. 30th at 9pm. All are welcome.
We are doing a scrap metal collection again in the coming weeks. Anyone with scrap to donate please contact Tony Garvey or any officer and we will arrange to collect as soon as possible. Midlands Shotokan Karate Clubs
Students from Edgeworthstown Karate Club took part in a grading last Friday 22nd November in Tanden Dojo, Longford. Sensei Ciaran is happy to report that all students that graded passed on the day. He is very proud of the standard of karate Edgeworthstown’s students showed. Sensei Alan Smith, chief instructor of the Midlands Shotokan Karate Clubs , took the grading on the day.
