Please take note 25 card game for the future will take place on Tuesday night’s at 8pm in St Brigid’s Community Centre.

Scor na nOg

Thirty two children from Gowna NS took part in Scor na nOg on Sunday 17th November in Killygarry. The children participated in all seven disciplines and succeeded in winning four of these disciplines allowing them to go through to the county finals. The four successful disciplines are the ballad group, set dancers, recitation and novelty act to whom we extend our sincere congratulations. Of the thirty two children taking part twenty two will now represent Gowna in the county finals to be held on Saturday 30th November in Killeshandra at 3pm. Following on that success Adare Productions have already invited the Ceili Dancers (Ladies Club) and set dancers to audition for TG4 programme of An Jig Gig and also invited the Ballad group to audition for Scor encore. Sincere thanks is extended to their family and friends who supported them on the night. We take this opportunity to wish success to all above in their endeavours and also to the Round Table Quiz team who will be in action in the coming weeks.

Gowna GAA Development Fund Co-Lotto Draw result. Date: 18/11/2013 – 7, 18, 27, 31. Jackpot winner none. Five X 20 euro winners were Mary Cadden, Corfree; Niamh Boylan, Corfree; Seamus Kiernan, Arva; Johnny Burns Gowna; Maureen Reynolds, Mulrick. Next week’s jackpot 2450 euro. Sympathy

Sympathy is extended to Noel Morris, Dernaferst, Loch Gowna on the death of his sister, Valerie, which occurred on Tuesday, 29th October in Tralee. May she rest in peace.

Active Age

Loch Gowna Active Age annual Christmas party will take place on Sunday, December 8th in the Pikers Lodge Hotel at 4pm. A collection in aid of the party will take place following 11am Mass on Sunday next 1st December.

Text alert

In the past week a text alert form has been delivered to every house in the parish. If you wish to join please return your form to the person who delivered it or leave at the Post Office as soon as possible. Text alert meeting this Thursday night 26th October at 8pm in St Brigid’s Community.

Table quiz

Gowna GFC table quiz on Friday 29th November in the Pikers Lodge at 8.30pm. Table of four. Adults 40 euro and juniors 20 euro per table. Please support.

Gowna’s grow to give

Gowna grow to give Movember Shave Night takes place this Saturday night 30th November in Whites at 9pm. All proceeds to Aoibhann’s Park, the Childrens Cancer Charity and Palliative Care. Please support.
