Carol Galvin Fundraiser
A Fundraising Night will be held in the Village Inn, Drumlish on October 12th for Carol Galvin, daughter of Willie and Philomena Forde, Cloonaugh Lr, and natives of Kilmahon. Carol diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis eight years ago is confined to a wheelchair and was recently diagnosed with a chronic form of Lyme Disease. Lyme Disease treatment is only available in Germany and will cost 40,000 euro. Carol lives in Athlone with her husband David and six year old daughter. Your help and support for this Fundraiser will be greatly appreciated.
The Parish of Drumlish/Ballinamuck has been allocated 4 places for the Episcopal Ordination of Fr. Francis Duffy in St. Mary’s Pro Cathedral Athlone on Sunday 6th October at 3.00pm If you would like to attend this special celebration please give your name to Fr. Patsy or Fr. Ber before September 22nd. All names in by that date will be put in a draw which will take place at the 11.00am Mass in Drumlish on September 22nd.

Cathedral Open Day
Those who are interested will have an opportunity to see progress on te restoration project at an Open Day to be held on Sunday September 29th. The Cathedral will open to visitors from 1.30pm to 4,30pm
Congratulations and well done to everyone and especially the hard –working Committee of the Tidy Towns on the recent results of the Tidy Towns Competition. The marks were up this year by 6 more than last year and the report is very comprehensive fair and honest. There is still a lot of work to be done in the town and surrounds but well done on this remarkable achievement and thank you on behalf of all the citizens of Drumlish for all your endeavours on behalf of the town. Today is the start of next year and it behoves everyone living in and around the area to put their weight behind the committee, to help and co-operate any which way they can and support the efforts being made to develop and implement the recommendations of the adjudicator in furthering the enhancement of the area. Everyone must play their part. “From little acorns, great oaks grow” Ar scáth a chéile a mhaireann na daoine”. So thank you to all the workers Fás and others for all their efforts in achieving the added 6 points this year.

Rainbows is a support programme for children/teenagers who have been bereaved through death or separation. At Rainbows: The young people meet in small groups according to their age. Two caring trained adults facilitate each group in a warm welcoming atmeosphere. They are helped to express their feelings of loss through art, games and stories. They are listened to in confidence.
