Gowna ladies GFC have arranged their annual secondhand clothes collection. If you have any mens womens or childrens clothes (clean) paired shoes, handbags, curtains or bed linen, please fill the bag that has been delivered to your home and leave for collection at the GAA club rooms before Saturday 21st September. The mobile unit of the Blood Transfusion Service will visit St Brigids Commmunity Centre Loch Gowna on Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th September. Clinic times 5pm – 8.30pm. Please support . It is important that we all remember that many patients in hospital need our blood.
Loch Gowna Tidy Towns Association would like to thank all householders business people and especially the SES Scheme workers whose efforts contributed to Loch Gowna achieving 3rd place in County Cavan in the 2013 National Tidy Towns competition. Loch Gowna achieved an increase of 2 marks over last years mark of 268. Hopefully next year we will achieve first place in the county.
We extend our deepest sympathy to the McEntee family Arva on the tragic death of their brother Leo McEntee Fair Green Arva which occurred on Sunday 8th September. His remains were removed from his brother Dermot’s residence, Drumhaldry on Tuesday evening to the Church of Sacred Heart Arva and following funeral mass on Wednesday morning burial took place in Coronea cemetery. May he rest in peace.

Death of John Lynch
It was with regret that we learnt of the death of John Lynch Dingins Corlesmore which occurred on Thursday 5th September peacefully at Lisdarn unit for the elderly Cavan. John was a very friendly and gentle person and held in high esteem by everyone who knew him. He will be sadly missed by his sisters Teresa Smith Arva and Bridget Lyons London, brothers in law nieces nephews and cousins to whom we extend our deepest sympathy. His remains were removed from Finnegans funeral home Cavan on Friday evening to the church of Holy Family Loch Gowna and following funeral mass on Saturday at 11am burial took place in adjoining cemetery. May he rest in peace.
All Ireland final
Cavan ladies are in the All Ireland final on the 29th Sept. Anyone wishing to travel to the All Ireland final must contact Madge Fitzpatrick on 087 6429167 or Geraldine on 086 3164951 as soon as possible. Tickets must be ordered before 21st September. Transport will be organised depending on numbers. All underage players must be accompanied by a parent. Ticket prices are as follows. Adult 25 euro. Student/ senior citizens 10 euro. Under 14 8 euro. Groups under 16 minimum 10 5 euro pp + 1 adult. Family tickets 2 adults 25 euro each and children 5 euro each.
