Eugene Donlon RIP: Deep regret is felt over the region following the death of Eugene Donlon, Doon, Strokestown which occurred last week. 
Eugene was a Revenue Collector with Roscommon Co Council and was highly regarded throughout the region. We extend deepest sympathy to his wife Joan, nee McGuinness, formerly of Tarmonbarry village, daughters, sons,sisters, brother, grandchildren and a very loyal and large group of very special friends.

Irish Girl Guides: As from September it is hoped to form a Ladybird Unit in Clondra. It will cater for girls aged 5 years to 7 years. An Assistant Leader for the Brownies Unit and an Assistant for Ladybirds to help with Units at weekly meetings for one hour each week. Scramogue Church Restoration Fund: Scramogue Church Restoration Fund would like to thank everybody who supported the recent cake sale held in Leavy’s Lounge. 558 euro was raised, a great amount of money. Well done to all.

Bike Club: A cycling Club is currently been formed in the Scramogue/Tarmonbarry region and people of all ages in the region are encouraged to join. For further info contact Sean on 086-2492321, Mary on 087-4178858 or Joe on 086-1052197.

Community Games: Well done to our boys and girls from the parish who got through to the County Finals in Basketball recently under 13, which were held in Castlerea. Both teams were beaten in the finals but they were up against very experienced opposition. However brilliant to see our Parish get silver in Basketball in the County Finals. Well done to all. Thanks to Grainne O’Boyle for all her dedication to this cause, ably assisted by Shirley Humpsted. We made great strides this year in Basketball and if we keep at it, I feel we will have some serious teams in the years ahead.

St.Barry’s Table Quiz: St Barry’s GAA are holding a Table Quiz in the Lodge on Friday 26th April at 9.30pm. Team of 4 are 40 euro. Please support. Watch out for a night out at the dogs at Longford Greyhound Track on Friday 12th July.

Under 16’s lose: Hard luck to our under 16 ladies who were defeated by a superior St. Croan’s in the County semi-final played in Tarmonbarry on Sunday last. Hard luck girls.

Community Games Day: It is hoped that a Community Games Day will take place this coming weekend at St. Barry’s GAA grounds. Word will be sent out to the schools concerned in the comng days. Thanks to all who contributed to the recent Church Gate Collection.
