Tidy Town’s: Ballinamuck Tidy Towns a tidy up day has been organised for Saturday morning the 27th, (weather permitting) meeting at the hall at 9.45am we would appreciate the help of all the community.

  

community centre celebrations: The Drumlish community centre will host a gala weekend to commemorate 25 years on the May bank holiday weekend, to coincide with the celebration we will launch a commemorative book which will include stories and pictures of 25 years in the centre. 
The weekend will kick of with a variety concert on the Friday night @8pm. On Saturday the 4th of May a family fun day will take place from 12-5pm, this will include a fancy dress competition and great prizes for the best dressed girl and best dressed boy will be presented on the day. Mass on Saturday evening will be for the community centre after which we will have a blessing in the centre followed by refreshments and an Irish night. Sunday night the 5th of May is the time to get the dancing shoes on to great local bands the aftermath and nite fever, a full licensed bar will be in the centre on the night (over 18’s only). This weekends celebrations will also coincide with the gathering 2013. Admission on the Friday night will be €10 for adults, Saturday night will be optional and Sunday will be €10 over 18s only. This promises to be a great weekend and we hope to see you there to join us in celebrating 25 years of Drumlish community centre. We would like to thank everyone who helped out with bag packing at the weekend and also to Dunnes stores for allowing us to do the bag packing in their store.

Tidy Town’s: A major Clean up of the Arva Road from the Father Manning Gael’s Clubhouse as far as the old civic dump is planned for Saturday 27th April from 9.30 a.m  Anyone who can lend a hand for a couple of hours is asked to meet at the Gaels Clubhouse for 9.30 to do their bit for their local environment please.  For litter or dumping issues phone Longford Litter Hotline 1850 434 450  and visit Drumlish Tidy Town’s on Facebook.  

Car Boot: - Drumlish Area Enhancement –  We are still gathering so any seasonal, recyclable and saleable items that you no longer need or have use for we will  be delighted to receive them. Environmental Awareness Day: – Saturday 27th April is a date for your diary at 10.00 am, Drumlish Tidy Town’s will have Environmental Education Officer, Nuala Madigan from the Irish Peatlands Conservation Council, join us for the morning to deliver a workshop introducing biodiversity including habitats of Ireland their flora and fauna as well as managing and enhancing biodiversity.  This will be followed by a walk around the area with the group to begin a biodiversity survey. Each participant will be given guidelines on how to do and prepare a biodiversity report for the community. There is no charge and there will be much of educational value and we invite anyone who has an interest in ecology, environment to pencil in this date... and bring your children it is an opportunity not to be missed and that may not be repeated for a very long time. This is open to neighbouring parishes as well.

Ding Dong Avon calling: A huge Avon clearance sale takes place in the Village Inn on Friday the 26th starting at 8p.m. This event is perfect for grabbing a bargain or that much loved product before AVON leaves Ireland. Organised shoppers might just find a prefect birthday or Christmas present for the ladies in their lives. We wish Ann the best of luck with this event and hope to see you all there.

Community Games: Drumlish Ballinamuck Community Games Annual Sports Day will take place in Monaduff on Bank Holiday Monday 6th May at 2pm. Volunteers are needed to help out on the day and should contact any committee member.

Computer classes at local Library: These are starting within the next few weeks – call in or phone Helen on 0433324760 or 0868674162 for details. Also our knitting club is ongoing – new members always welcome.

Heritage: Drumlish Heritage – History - are hosting two events for the Gathering on 21st & 22nd August next – further details visit The Gathering Ireland Website.

Yoga classes: Yogs classes continue every Friday evening at 7.30pm in the Bent Elbow. The next three week course starts on the 3rd of May

Bingo: Bingo in Ballinamuck had a new summer time start of 9pm.All are welcome to attend nightly prize fund €1300 !

Cairn Hill Challenge: As part of the Community Centre 25th Anniversary Celebrations and Gathering events on the May bank Holiday weekend Gaels Utd FC are hosting a 10k and 10mile road race on Sunday May 5th. The course will take participants from Drumlish Village by Derawley and Kilmahon with the shorter course going in front of Cairn Hill while the 10mile couse will proceed by the back of Cairn Hill. Both races then re enter Drumlish to the finish This event is open to all runners, joggers and walkers and will be chip timed. There will be a fun run for children on the day over a shorter course. So why not make it a family day out and support the young people of our area. Entry Fee is 15 euro and Registration can be done on line by finding “Precision Timing Website” and then find Cairn Hill Challenge on their calendar.

Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes: The Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes takes place from 27th May to 1st June – 5 nights. Cost is €699 al inclusive. Booking forms are available from Fr. Ber. For further details see poster on Church notice board.
