There are Girls from this parish involved in both teams so best of luck to them all. Therewill be no training on May Bank Holiday Monday enjoy the break.

WIND TURBINE MEETING: Legan Wind Turbine Action Group wish to inform all residents that the Longford County Development Plan is currently being reviewed and the closing date for submissions is Friday May 3rd.For further information phone Louise Kelly on 087 9053697.

GAA: Results of GAA Lotto draw held in Casey’s Carrickboy on Monday 22nd April for a jackpot of 6600 euro. Numbers drawn were 4,11,17 and 27.There was no jackpot winner. Match three winners were Tony O’Sullivan, Kathleen Nulty and Peggy Marlowe. This week’s draw took place in Mitchells and results will be published next week.

INNY ANGLERS: Results of Inny Anglers Lotto draw held in Mitchells for a jackpot of 2100 euro. Numbers drawn were 8, 11, 12, 20. Special draw winners were Pat Halpin and Bernadette Kenny each 40 euro. This week’s draw takes place in Sloweys Lakeland Vintage Club are holding a Vintage Day in Newcastle House on Sunday May 5th. A family day out with music and entertainment all day.

TIDY TOWNS: Legan Tidy Towns Committee thank all that supported their recent fundraising. Thank you to all who bought tickets who sponsored and those who attended the events. A total of 4000 euro was raised and this will be used to enhance the village during the Summer months.

DEFIBRILLATOR: The Defibrillator committee wish to thank Legan Drama for funding of the batteries of one of our defibrillators. We are currently receiving subscriptions and donations towards replacing batteries in the second Defibrillator. As full funding has not yet been reached we would greatly appreciate donations from any groups or individuals.

SHOW JUMPING SUCCESS: Congratulations to Molly Kiernan Treel who won 3rd place in individual inter-schools show jumping championship for Lenamore National School.

WALKING GROUP: This Saturday May 4th the walking group will meet in Abbeyshrule at 10am for the weekly walk. New members welcome.

FIRST FRIDAY: This Friday May 3rd is the First Friday of month and Holy Communion calls to the sick and housebound will be on Thursday and Friday mornings at the usual times.

THANK YOU: St Josephs Young Priests Society wish to thank all who supported their tea/coffee morning after masses last weekend in Ballycloghan and Legan.

SYMPATHY: we extend sympathy to the family and friends of Tom Rooney Clonscott who passed away last week. We also extend sympathy to the family and relatives of Paddy Belton whose untimely death occurred suddenly last Thursday. Paddy was a member of Longford County Council and made representations for many in this area. May they rest in peace.

ENGAGEMENT: Congratulations to Alan Murphy Kinard and Jemma Whyte from Dungarvan Co Waterford who announced their engagement recently in London.

COMMUNITY GAMES: We will hold our annual track and field day on Bank holiday Monday @1oclock in the GAA pitch. We hope to see a good turnout. Can any members who have any uniforms from last year please return them on this date as we will require them for the county finals.
