DATE FOR YOUR DIARY: Social dance will commence in St Brigids Community Centre Loch Gowna on Easter Saturday night following mass. More details at a later date.

FISHING COMPETITION: Loch Gowna /Upper Erne Anglers will host the John Frank Smyth Memorial Open Boat pike fishing competition on Sunday next 24th February. Fishing from 11am to 4pm. Venue Aughanoran lake. Membership due on this day 10 euro.

AGM: Loch Gowna /Upper Erne Anglers Association AGM will take place this Friday night 22nd February in the Pikers Lodge Hotel at 8.30pm. New members very welcome.

ENROLMENT: St Patricks National School Gowna enrolment for junior infants class for September will begin on Monday 18 February to Friday 1st March. Enrolment forms are available from the school. For any other queries please contact the school on 043 6683514.

SYMPATHY: It was with deep regret that we learned of the death of Dan McCormack Cloonagh Dring which occurred on Friday 8th February peacefully in his 87 years surrounded by his loving family. Dan was a very friendly and gentle person and highly respected in the community. He will be sadly missed by his son Domhnall, daughters Regina and Sinead, daughter in law Wendy, sons in law Kieran and John , grandchildren, sisters in law , nieces and nephews relatives and friends to whom we extend our deepest sympathy. His remains were removed from his residence to St Columbas Church Mullinalaghta on Sunday evening and following requiem mass on Monday burial took place in local cemetery. May he rest in peace.

COLLECTION: Collection in aid of Self Help Africa will take place on Sunday next 24th February following 11am mass at the Church of Holy Family Gowna.

DEATH OF PADRAIGH O’REILLY: Shock and sadness was cast over the area when news broke of the untimely death of Padraigh O’Reilly Bridge House Cornamuckla Loch Gowna on Wednesday 6th February at his residence. Padraigh was a native of Dublin, when he married Shelia they moved to Loch Gowna where they established a guest house. He was a great host and always made sure that everyone that stayed there enjoyed their stay. Padraigh was a great character , a person who will be sadly missed and especially by his loving wife Shelia, daughters Emer, Evelyn and Emma, sister Mary Dublin and Kathleen McKenzie Bangor Co Down, brothers in law, sisters in law, mother in law relatives and friends to whom we extend our deepest sympathy. His remains were removed from his residence on Saturday morning to the Church of Holy Family Loch Gowna and following funeral mass at 12 noon burial took place in local cemetery. May he rest in peace.
