Sympathy: Sympathy is extended to the relatives of Eugene McCormack, late of Bawn, Moydow, who died recently in Birmingham. May he rest in peace. Memorial Mass in St Mary’s, Moydow on Friday, 7th December at 7pm.

Community Games: Annual Community Games Art competition takes place Friday Dec 7 in Ardagh Community Centre at 6pm. All children U8-U16 in the parish are welcome. You MUST come in person to draw your picture, we cannot accept pictures that are already drawn. All children please bring your own pencils and crayons, we will provide the paper. Entry €2 per child, €3 per family. Parents welcome to stay and lend a helping hand. Any queries contact Leslie Finnan 087-7960476. AMG Community Games all the draughts teams have been in action the last 2 weeks and these competitions are now over. Many thanks to the parents who helped with the smooth running of all these matches by bringing children to all the venues and especially to David Shannon and Eamon O’Kane for managing the teams. Congratulations to the U16 chess team who defeated Kenagh in their 1st match. The team of Adam Ryan, Dylan Ryan, Garreth Mulleady, Thomas Whyte, William Smyth, Rebecca O’Kane and Olivia Hoysted looked very sharp on the day. They will face Lanesboro in the next round so we wish them well as they keep up the winning form! The U12 chess team of Cian Hartmann, Brendan Finnan, Daniel Hayden, Nora Mae Pearman Howard, Ronan Keenan and Paul Smyth played their match at home. They tied 2.5 points each with Lanesboro which forced a 2nd round of play that just didn’t go our way. We still have some moves to master before next year! There will be more chess this coming week all players will be notified by text. Thanks to Eamon O’Kane and Martin Smyth for organising the teams and all matches. Announcing Ardagh Challenge & Fun Run-16 and 5 km distances, Saturday, December 29 at 11 am, Registration starts at 9:30am at Keenan GAA Park, Ardagh. Start the new year in great form! A fun activity for all the family.€10 per entrant, €15 per family. All proceeds to benefit AMG Community Games in carrying out activities for the children throughout the year.
