KILLOE COMMUNITY GAMES: Reminder to all our Artists and Model Makers, the Art and Model Making Competitions will take place from 2 pm to 5 pm on Sunday next, the 9th. December, 2012 in Enybegs Community Centre. The age categories for Art are U8, U10, U12, U14, and U16 for boys and girls. All art entries must have a Community Games theme. Any entry may be a drawing, painting, collage or cartoon. Drawing paper will be provided for all competitors. Please bring your own crayons, pencils, colours, collage materials etc. The age categories for Model Making are U10, U12, U14 and U16 for boys and girls. Please bring your own modelling clay and accessories. All exhibits must have a Community Games theme and any materials may be used. Only entries completed at this event will be suitable for judging. All first place winners in each age group will go forward to the County Final which will be held in January. Draughts – Another very busy week for our Draughts Teams. Our U10 A and B Teams are playing their semi finals during the week - Best of luck. Our U12 team lost in their semi-final last week – hard luck and well done for participating and training over the last number of weeks.

Community Alert: Cullyfad Community Alert Group have registered for the installation of Personal Monitored Alarms under the Seniors Alert Scheme. The scheme only covers the purchase and installation of an alarm.The monitoring yearly fee is not covered by the scheme and must be paid by each individual alarm holder. The monitoring fee is in the region of €70 per year. Eligibility is based on the following criteria:

Age 65 years or older: Living alone or living with other eligible person. Live within the Community Alert Group catchment area Aware of monitoring costs. Grant assistance is NOT available for people under 65 or for older persons living with family members. GAA: Killoe minor club will be holding their AGM in St Theresa’s National School on Sunday 9 December 2012 at 6pm.All members are asked to please attend on the night. Congrats to St Theresa’s NS U12 girls and mentors on yet another achieved parish success in their league final win V Stonepark last week at Pearse Park Longford. Well done girls. PIONEERS: Mass will be celebrated in St Marys Church Ennybegs Killoe for deceased Killoe pioneers on Sunday 9 December at 11am.

BIRTHDAY: A big happy birthday wish to Darina.

SYMPATHY: Sincere condolence to Johnny Quinn Castlepark Newtownforbes,(forermly Drimure Killoe) Tobin families Mitchelstown Co Cork,Quinn families Drimure Killoe on the sad bereavement of John’s dear wife Eileen (nee Tobin formerly Mitchelstown Co Cork) who was laid to rest last week. The parish express sympathy to her husband Johnny ,Tobin brothers and sisters and in laws Co Cork, brothers in law Michael Drimure, Joe Cork, sisters in law Margaret (Hughes Farragh Killoe) Chrissie (Ballymahon) Mary (Dublin) extended families friends. Requiem Mass was celebrated in St Marys Church Newtownforbes Co Longford with burial in the local cemetery. May she rest in peace.

LOY CHAMPION: Congratulations to Bernard Casey and families Ohill Killoe on his recent achievement in the loy digging championship. Keeping Killoe and Longford in the spotlight.

CONDOLENCE: Sincere sympathy is extended to the Morgan families St Patricks Terrace Longford (formerly Esker Ballinalee Co Longford) on the sad bereavement of their dear mother Julia (nee Quinn) (predeceased by her husband Tommy) who was recently laid to rest.
