FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2012: St Patricks Church Mohill looked magnificent for First Holy Communion on Saturday 12th May 2012 and the choir added to the joy of this special day for the following who made their first Holy Communion Laura Casey Emma Hayden, Chloe Harkin,Jenni McCrann,Dearbhaile Wrynne,Kayla Gaffey April Doyle Leah McCrann Geraldine Reynolds Ellen McGuinness Nathan Rowley Connor Macklin Shane Duignan Aonghus McCrann,Thomas McNabola Joshua Stewart. They all have our congratulations. Also their parents teacher and spiritual director for the great work they do in preparing the young girls and boys for this important day in their lives and we all wish them a life filled with every blessing and much happiness.

THANK YOU: Patricia Beirne would like to thank all who supported the recent church gate collection in aid of the Irish cancer society at St Patricks Church. 515 euro was the amount collected. Thank you for your generosity.

MOHILL COMMUNITY NETWORK: To coincide with National Spring Clean week Mohill Community Network are launching a comprehensive clean up for the town on the 18th and 19th May next. Hopefully by 26th May every building will reflect great community spirit and pride in the appearance of our town. Mohill community Network are grateful for any assistance – home owners business owners lock up owners can give eg window cleaning gutter cleaning power washing painting and general tidy up ensuring that their premiss and surrounding areas are kept litter free clean and tidy.

COMMUNIITY MOBILISATION : A community mobilisation meeting on alcohol related harms will take place in the Canon Donohoe Hall on Thursday 17th May at 8pm. Every family and business is encouraged to attend. All are welcome.

LOTTO RESULTS: On the 7th May the Mohill Lotto draw was held in O’Carolans Glebe street . The numbers drawn were 3,6,7,22. There was no jackpot winner. The lucky dip winners are as follows 1st 70 euro Peter Keegan Drumboy; 2nd 40 euro Anthony Oates Dromod; 3rd 20 euro Ray McHugh Drumcree. The draw on the 14th May was held in J’s hotel Main St with the jackpot at 10,600. Thanking you for your support .Congratulations to Mohill Community College team who had a very deserved victory over Coola in Ballyfarnon in the Connaught Finals Mohill 3-11 Coola 2-12. Best of luck to our Leitrim ladies on their replay with Westmeath in this years Bord Gais ladies national football league Division 3 final next weekend. Up Leitrim.

MOHILL BRIDGE CLUB: There was a good attendance at bridge in Js Hotel on 2nd May. Results 1st Dorothy O’Connor Annie Cox; 2nd Marie Walpole Ella Gannon; 3rd Kay Dolan Mary Scollan; 4th Teresa Hamill Peg Logan. Junior section 1st Tim Faughnan Oliver Shanley; 2nd Sean Byrne Patricia Byrne; Next Wednesday 16th the competition for the James Dooner memorial plaque will be held. Play commences 7.45pm. The club held a three minutes silence for the late Howard Cusack Ballinamore who sadly died on the 2nd May 2012.Howard was a member of Mohill bridge Club for a number of years where he was noted for his brilliant bridge playing. He was a gentleman who was an inspiration to us all. His cremation took place in Belfast following requiem mass in Ballinamore on the 11th May last. To his son Matthew sister Monica brother Jim their extended family and all who mourn Howard at this sad time we offer our deepest sympathy. May his dear soul rest in peace.

GOSPEL CHOIR CONCERT: We look forward to the choir concert to be held in St Marys Church Mohill on Friday 25th May at 8.30pm.Choir participating will be The Kilmore Cathedral Choir,The Sweet Spirit Gospel Ecumenical Choir,the Hunt National School Choir. Also soloists Lorraine Vance Arva. All welcome.

GORVAGH COMMUNITY CENTRE: The annual general meeting of the Gorvagh Community Centre committee will be held in the centre on Tuesday night the 22nd may at 9pm. Some very interesting items on the agenda. Newcomers always welcome. Do come and bring a friend. We extend a cead mile failte to all.

INTERNATIONAL EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS: The fourth National Collection is being held at this time. Those who wish to contribute can use the yellow envelope in your box dated 10th June. Your contribution will be much appreciated. Thank you.
