Legan

Gala night: Legan Branch of St. Christopher’s is holding a gala night of music, dancing and storytelling in the Rustic Inn, in aid of St. Christopher’s Services, Longford, on Friday night, August 19th next. The show will be headlined by the generally acknowledged king of country music, Mick Flavin and his band. He will surely bring back memories of the old school yard to many of his fans. Also performing on the night will be Leinster and all-Ireland Irish dancing champions, Justin and Lauren McGuire. These two precocious talents, from Carrickedmond, have proven themselves to be the very best. A special treat is in store here. Veronica Moran winner of “Longford’s got Talent” and the nationwide “Stars of our Bars” and more recently performing with ‘The Aftermath’ will chip in with a set in her own inimitable style. Finally, Mr. storyteller and recitation maestro himself, Liam Butler, loaded down with Leinster and all-Ireland medallions, will ensure there are laughs a plenty. Only champions and winners will grace the Abbeyshrule stage on the night. The organisers are hoping that St. Christopher’s Services will also be winners with a big turn out of support. A great night is promised. Don’t forget there will be a shuttle bus service in operation to Abbeyshrule starting from Cluntymullen.
