Well the Youth Club Slimathon has reached its final week with over 30 stone weight lost by our teams. We hope every one enjoyed the whole experience. We would ask that all sponsorship cards and money be returned to any club leader. We are having a well deserved night out on Friday night the 3rd June in the Copper Still with music on the night by the Looney Hoppers. We will have a prize on night for overall best team of Slimathon plus all returned sponsorship cards will be entered into draw on night. Finally the Youth club would like to thank everyone for their support during the slimathon and to all our experts and trainers who came and gave talks and did classes over the course of the 8 weeks. Body attack classes continue on Thursday nights at 9pm in the Community Centre

Bornacoola seniors hosted Drumreilly on Saturday evening last in a very important league fixture. With points badly needed for both teams it was always going to be a tough encounter. Bornacoola dominated the first half but failed to get the scores while Drumreilly were always dangerous in attack. The game ended in a win for the visitors and a very important 2 points taking them off the bottom of Div 1. Final score was Bornacoola 0.06 Drumreilly 2.03. On Sunday a very under strength team travelled to Drumkeeran for a div 2 league game, this is a game Bornacoola will record as one of their worst defeats being defeated on a scoreline of Bornacoola 0.05 Drumkeeran 4.17.
Bornacoola are collecting scrap metal, old cars, farm machines, tractors, steel, washing machines, dishwashers, copper, brass, stainless steel, scrap electric cables, lead, batteries, engines, electric motors etc. First day of collection was last Saturday and proved to be very successful so a member of the club will call to all the houses in the parish in the coming weeks and will arrange for any unwanted metal goods to be collected.
We extend our congratulations to local painter and decorator Peadar Reynolds and his wife Irene on the birth of their second baby, a girl to be named Faye brother to James who was born at Sligo General Hospital recently. We wish you many years of health and happiness for the future.
