DRUMLISH TIDY TOWNS
We are now in the judging season – several months of hard work should be in evidence now. There are still a few outstanding jobs i.e. the painting in particular that could not be done in the past few weeks, should be in evidence this coming week. The mechanical sweep will take place this Saturday 4 of June from 9 a.m. (it was double booked last Monday) – please oblige and use the village car parks for this couple of hours so that the machine can do the best job possible. The bottle bank area continues to be a problem: some one person or two are using this area as a dumping ground for their trash and we have had to get a camera installed at it because it is not possible to police this amenity 24/7. So be warned!
Remember you can contribute to our Tidy Village by keeping the grass at the entrance to your estate and dealing with litter appropriately plus reminding others to do the same. There are boxes for cigarette butts attached to the walls of all the Public Houses –smokers please use them. Kerb appeal - enhance where you can with a lick of paint or a tidy garden, flower boxes or hanging baskets – it all adds to first impressions. For updates, check Drumlish Tidy Towns on Facebookand also report any litter/cigarette or dog fouling to Longford Litter Hotline 1850 434 450.
Next Friday is First Friday of June so usual calls will be made to the sick and housebound at the normal times.
