SIAMSA- IS FEIDIR LINN

An Irish language summer course Siamsa – Is Feider Linn will take place from Monday 11th July to Friday 15th July in Gaelscoil Longfoirt. The course will take place from 9.30am to 3pm each day and will cater for students from third to sixth class. ALL NIGHT VIGIL

This first Friday /Saturday, all night vigil will take place in Our Ladys Manor Edgeworthstown starting at 10pm on this Friday night, June 3rd. All are welcome to join for all or part of the night.

NORWEGIAN CHOIR

The Norwegian choir “Sang Koret Fjelljom” will travel to Longford on this Thursday evening 2nd June to perform in concert in St Mel’s Cathedral Centre. Following on from the concert we will entertain our Norwegian friends with a night of Irish music song and dance in the Longford Arms Hotel beginning at 8pm. On Fri 3rd June. The finest talent from Longford including champion dancer Justin Maguire will perform on the night to give a taste of Irish culture to our visitors. There is no entry fee and all are welcome.

TIDY TOWNS NEWS

Great activity has been seen around the village over the last few weeks with teams of volunteers going out on Mondays, Tuesdays & Saturdays preparing for the upcoming competition. Adjudicators will be around any time from early June so we’re trying to get as much works done in as short a time as possible. If everyone could give attention the area

outside their own home/business premises it would make a huge difference. Anyone willing to lend a hand for an hour please meet at the Parish Hall at 7.30 on Monday or Tuesday & come armed with garden utensils & gloves if you have them. There’s lots of planting, power washing, cleaning of signs, digging around trees, weeding footpaths and general tidying to be done.
