Walk a Mile
On Sunday, 13th September there will be a fundraiser walk in aid of Emily Kane, who has the rare disease Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis. The mile walk will start at Drumlish Community Centre at 12pm.
School Insurance forms will be given out to all children in the school next week. A group of parents have volunteered to collect these completed forms and funds on Friday 4th September at 9.15am, 12.30pm 2pm and 3pm. Please drop off completed forms at these times.
Annual diocesan pilgrimage to Knock takes place on Sunday, 6th September. Ceremony begins at 2.30pm with anointing of the sick followed by Mass at 3pm. Bus tickets cost €16 and are available from the parish office
Their annual weekend away takes place 16th and 17th October in the Headford Arms Hotel and playing on both the new and old Headford Golf Club courses. €50 deposit per person to be paid by Sept 19th, which is the date of our outing to Athlone Golf Club. Contact Eoghan Fagan for further details.
All-Ireland Boxes Draw
Sean Connolly’s All-Ireland Boxes draw is taking place for this years All-Ireland football final. Limited to 100 boxes, which cost €50 each. Top prize fund of €2,500 with €500 of a prize at half time and €2,000 at full time. The winner will be determined by the score line at half and full time.

In preparation for the commemoration of 1916 next year, a local group has put together a small commemorative evening, which will take place following Mass at 7.30pm on Friday 4th September. With United Irishmen marching from the bridge on the Aughnacliffe road to the commemorative monument on Bully’s Acre, where a wreath will be placed to remember those who were executed on this site. They will then march to the Sean MacEoin monument, where Padraic Pearse’s oration at O’Donovan Rossa’s funeral will be read. We are looking for volunteers on the evening to march in the dress of that period. Anyone interested please contact Micheál Carrigy.

Defeat for Connolly’s
Hard luck to Connollys in the Intermediate Championship as they were narrowly beaten in the semi-final. They played really well and were just unlucky in the end.
