Crafty Ladies

Calling all crafty ladies! First meeting of 2015 will be held next Friday 6 February from 10:00am to 12:30pm in room above Carrigallen Post Office. All are welcome.

Pancake Tuesday Fundraiser

A local committee is organizing Pancake Tuesday on Tuesday, 17 February in the recently extended and refurbished state of the art kitchen at Carrigallen Vocational School, by kind permission of the Board of Management and the school principal Mr Declan Conboy from 3:00pm to 7:00pm.
All proceeds from this fund raiser go to the Oncology Unit at Cavan General Hosiptal. Please support this very worthy event.


Anyone interested in starting or improving their fitness by jogging or running – there is a group of us meeting on Sundays at 3:00pm in the parking lot at St Mary’s Church, Carrigallen for an hour. Come and join us!

School Bank

Transition Year students from Carrigallen Vocational School have embarked on an exciting new venture by setting up ‘The Midas Bank’ under the AIB Build a Bank Programme. The bank is open for business in the school each Monday at 1:30pm. Students can open a Second Level Student Account and lodge money to their accounts weekly. Community Care

Carrigallen Community Care held their annual Christmas party in the Kilbrackan Arms Hotel on Sunday, 7 December. A great day was had by the large number who attended. Donal Cadden and staff provided a beautiful meal and lively music was supplied by Country Roads. Many thanks go to all the local performers who took to the stage, to provide excellent variety of entertainment. A special word of thanks goes to Declan Grimes for giving of his time and energy to help make it a really memorable party. ‘Santa’s visit’ proved to be the highlight of the day. Thanks also to each and all who donated/sponsored presents and prizes, and everyone who contributed in any way. It was wonderful to see Fr Denis Murray PP and Rev Jean Mackeral in attendance, as well as Paddy O’Rourke, Cathaoirleach Leitrim County Council and Dr Antoinette Gregan. The Committee is grateful for all donations and contributions received both at Christmas and throughout the year. These contributions enable Carrigallen Community Care to provide excellent services within the community on an on-going basis. We extend good wishes for health and happiness to all.

Social Dancing

Social dancing will be held next Saturday night, 7 February, in the Kilbrackan Arms Hotel from 10:00pm to 12:30am. Music supplied by the Lancers. All are welcome!

G.F.C. Lotto
The draw was held on Saturday, 31 January 2015 and the numbers drawn on the night were 2, 9, 15, and 23. There was no Jackpot winner and the four winners of €50 each were Elaine McGovern, Derek Reilly, P. Gray Drumhaldry, and Rose Ellen Callaghan. Next week’s draw will be held in Kilbrackan Arms Hotel on 7 February 2015 when the Jackpot will be €3,900. Those in charge of the draw will be Declan Donohoe and Paddy O’Rourke.

Oil Painting Classes

Outreach Service

The Mohill Family Support Centre’s Outreach Service will be available in Carrigallen’s Primary Care Centre every Tuesday from 10:00am to 12:30pm.
