Yoga Classes

Six week yoga course commencing in the Thomas Ashe Hall in Ballinalee on Tuesday evening, 23rd September 8-9.30pm. Enrolment 15 minutes before the first class. Cost €70. For further information phone Maureen Bracken 043 3323196.

Connolly’s Fundraising Draw

Boxes are now on sale for the All-Ireland Boxes Draw. Boxes are €100. Locals are asked to support this fundraising venture. 1st prize is €5,000. Draw is limited to 100 entries. Contact Micheál Carrigy or Michael O’Sullivan.

All-Ireland Ticket Draw

Tickets are on sale for a draw with the first prize two premium All-Ireland Football Final tickets plus overnight B&B in a 4 star hotel in Dublin. Tickets cost €5 each or three for €10 and are available in all local shops.

Dancing

O’Reilly/Mansfield School of Dancing has recommenced classed in the Thomas Ashe Hall every Tuesday from 2-3pm for junior and senior infants and 3-4pm for older children. There is also a class in Aughnacliffe Community Centre on Tuesdays from 4.45-6pm. All newcomers welcome. Text Carol on 0877181698

County Champions

Well done to the Killoe Ladies Senior team, who won the Senior Championship Ladies Football Final. The following girls from Ballinalee were members of the team: Marie Carrigy, Catherine Carrigy, Anna McDonnell, Catriona Reynolds, Sharon Treacy, Mary Reynolds, Michelle Heaney, Nicole Lynch, Sharon Brady and Emma Doris.

Duck Race

The winning duck in the race held recently was purchased by Philomena Fox, Cavan, Ballinalee.

County Final

Well done to our neighbours Killoe on reaching the Senior County Championship final, which takes place on the first Sunday in October.

Social dancing

Social Dancing takes place every Thursday night between 9-11pm in the Park House Hotel. Adm €5.

Coffee Morning

Annual Hospice Coffee morning takes place on Thursday, 18th Sept from 9am - 12 noon in the Thomas Ashe Hall, Ballinalee. Your support would be gratefully appreciated.

Motor Neuron

Well done to all those involved with the recent fundraising in aid of Motor Neuron Research and the total of €20,000 was raised.

Yoga

A six week seated yoga course will start in Ennybegs Community Centre on Tuesday, 23rd Sept 11am - 12 noon. Cost €60. Further info contact Maureen Bracken at 043 3323196.

Tidy Towns

Well done to all involved in the Tidy Towns effort over the last number of months. The village received 241 marks, which is an increase of 7 on our previous year. The effort will continue throughout the winter and volunteers are always welcome.

GAA

The local Intermediate team are preparing for the county final on Sunday, 28th September. We encourage all in the parish to get out their colours in support of the team.

Sympathy

To Brendan Luby, Drumeel on the recent death of his sister, Kate Luby, Killashandra and also his brother Pat, who passed away in Texas, USA. RIP.

Lotto

Wedding

The beautiful wedding of Kieran Farrell, son of Martin and Mary Farrell Ballinalee and Sinead O’Hara, daughter of Padraig and Olive, Kilmain, Co. Mayo took place in Benahavis, Spain. The groomsman was Kieran’s brother Cathal and the bridesmaid was Fiona Finnerty, sister of the bride. Flower girl was Erin Murtagh and page boys were Finn Murtagh and Daragh Finnerty. A large number of family and friends travelled out to Spain for the wonderful occasion. We wish them a healthy and happy life together in Australia and we look forward to see them back on our shores as a married couple very soon.
