Congratulations to the junior members of the Ardagh Badminton Club on their excellent results in the Midlands Badminton Tournament in Kenagh last Sunday. Eva Harkin, Aoife Sheridan, Sophie Hogan, Meghan Finnan, Melissa O’Kane , Mark McCord, Dillon Ryan, Colm Hoysted, Conor & Ben Callan and Connor Hogan all took part in both the singles & doubles categories. Conor Hogan & Ben Callan won 1st place U11 Boys Doubles, Melissa O’Kane excelled in both Singles and Doubles winning 1st place in both for the U11 Girls category, and Conor Callan won U11 Boys Singles. Thanks to Aine Walsh, Kelly Callan & Janice O’Kane for their work coaching the children every week and bringing them on to such success. Wishing Good Luck to the older age group that will take part in the U15-17 Tournament this weekend.
AMG Community Games
AMG Community Games Youth Activities will be held this Friday, February 21 from 7-8pm as usual in Ardagh Community Centre. This will be the last practice for the Boys Table Tennis team before their County competition. Training for Futsal continues, the County competition is in March, any questions contact Michael Hayden or Eamon O’Kane. U10 Handwriting competition: U10 Handwriting competition this Friday 21 February 7-8pm at the Youth Activities, in Ardagh Community Centre, €2 each. All children in 1st-3rd classes under age 10 years are welcome to take part. Please bring your own pencils & eraser, we will supply the paper. Any questions contact Leslie Finnan 087-7960476. We know that the children in our parish have lovely handwriting as 2 of our previous winners, Shane Quinn & Saoirse McLoughlin, went on to win at County level and then took part in the National Community Games Finals in Athlone. The judge will have a tough job to pick the best boy and girl entry, County Handwriting Final Wednesday February 19.
